A trip back in time....

Since it has been a long time since we did a REAL post of our life and the goings-on, this is going to be a big one...consider it a trip through the past month and a half of our lives.  We will go from Easter in our old house, to today in our new house.  Let the journey begin....

Easter
We spent actual Easter weekend in Iowa with family (previously we wrote about this trip, but posted no pictures).  Before we headed south to enjoy some family time, we HAD to dye some eggs.  Who doesn't love to dye eggs and enjoy the hard boiled yumminess!?

This year Anna was all set for dying the eggs, and she did it, pretty much on her own!

Saturday in Iowa was Easter with Grandpa Dave and Grandma Lynn.  Anna got to hunt for LOTS of eggs and she loved every second of it!  She got lots of candy, stickers, hair bows, and more candy!
Uncle James decided it would be fun to see how high he could build a tower....

Daddy tried too.
Both towers came crashing down eventually, but the suspense made Anna giggle happily watching!

Sunday, after church, Anna and her cousin Will got to have an Easter egg hunt!  Anna loved looking for eggs again, and since she had just done it the day before, she was a pro!
 More candies, monies and fun!
Family Easter picture.  Next year we'll have two little kiddos running around at Easter...well maybe not running, but I'm guessing one may be crawling!

We got home on Sunday night to discover that the Easter bunny had struck yet again and left Anna with some bubbles!  She loves bubbles!  We had to try them out!
Daddy and Anna trying to make the really big bubbles!

Anna, at our old house, building a tower out of toilet paper rolls.  She probably played with the rolls of toilet paper for 45 minutes....love the toys that aren't toys!

The New House Adventure #1:
The first weekend we had possession of the new house, we took full advantage of cleaning and painting and even moving a LOT of stuff!

Anna got to hang out with Grandma Lori and she enjoyed showing her how to play with Mommy's new iPad.
Mommy was the locksmith and got all the locks re keyed and reinstalled.
Daddy was on painting duty with Papa Randy.  Lots of painting got done!
Anna loved checking out the workers and making sure they were on task!
When she wasn't checking in on the workers, Anna spent lots of time outside enjoying her sandbox in it's new location.
She also busted out her bike to make sure it would ride on the new patio area.
And, our new house is located only one block from a park, so she had Grandma take her there a few times over the course of the first weekend!

Back at the old house, checking out the flowers that were blooming.

That first weekend, we got so much work done.  Besides painting, we got the entire kitchen moved, lots of cleaning done, and the carpets cleaned.  Because of all we got done that weekend, we made plans to move in as much as we could so we could start living in the new house the following weekend.  It proved to be a difficult week having our beds in one place and the entire kitchen in another...but we survived!

New House Weekend Adventure #2:

The second weekend turned out to be the BIG MOVE!  Friends Pam and Cheri came and had a small trailer that they let us use to move all the beds, couches, and other large furniture.  It was a rainy, drizzly day, but we got SO MUCH accomplished.  It amazed us how much work we got done and that night we slept our first night in the new house!

Anna got to have more iPad time with Pam, teaching her how to use it as well.  (We kind of have a little iPad addict.)
The living room...in shambles, but at least there is a chair to sit in...
The kitchen and dining area...again, more chairs, and some other random pieces of furniture...
Anna's room.  This was the requirement for the day:  complete Anna's room so she would be comfy sleeping here.  And that number one goal was accomplished.  Anna slept very peacefully in her new room; no problems at all making any adjustments to a new place.  Luckily we had spent enough time here and talked about it so much that she was thrilled to have her new room set up and ready to go.

 Baby's room....in shambles.
Our bedroom...in shambles.  (But it did get put together by bed time that night.)

First weekend in May:
For the first weekend in May, we had our first official house guests in our new home.  We loved having Brian's parents, grandparents, Amy, Jason, and Will come for the weekend.  We celebrated Brian and Anna's birthdays as well as Mother's Day all in one weekend.  On top of all these celebrations, we also got a few more things moved from the old house, such as our elliptical machine, a couple big televisions, and the dinning room table!  It was productive, celebratory, and fun!

Anna presenting Grandma Lois with her Mother's Day flowers she picked out.
And some for Grandma Lori too.
We put some finishing touches on Anna's room just in time for the weekend...the request months ago from Anna was that her wall say "Princess Anna."  So of course, we obliged.
For Anna's birthday celebration, I found her this beautiful princess crown.  She loved placing it carefully on everyone's head and of course wearing it herself most of the weekend.

Again, showing yet another interested spectator how to play with the iPad.

 Cheese!

"Happy Birthday Brian and Anna!"

Time for PRESENTS!!
Will wanted to help too!

Anna got a lot of wonderful birthday presents!  She got new Barbies and a Tangled Barbie, an Olivia and Olivia book, new outfits and dresses, oh my!  She had so much fun!

She was still practicing her princess etiquette the next morning...

Grandma Lois was trying to rest, but Anna and Will said, "No napping!"

Cousins!

Who's taller?!

Pregnancy Update:

35 weeks pregnant.  Still feeling good, even amongst the chaos of our lives!

Mother's Day Weekend and Birthday Celebration #2:

Whew, way to go if you are still with me on all these events!!

Mother's Day weekend Papa Dave and Grandma Lynn came up with Aunt Kate to celebrate birthdays and check out the new place too!

Anna was again spoiled with birthday presents!  She got new roller skates!!
She was pretty good...but really wanted to go on the hardwood floors.

Not quite as good as she thought!

Back on her feet again!

Blowing out the candle on her pineapple birthday cupcake!

A new book about giraffes too!

Along with birthday celebrations, much organizing was done!  Grandma Lynn and Kate helped get the laundry room organized and put together, as well as much of the randomness that was the mud room got cleaned up and put into storage.  And that was all before 10 AM on Saturday!  After our organizing adventures we headed out to get new curtains for Anna's room!  Grandma Lynn is a pro at whipping together a sewing craft, so we picked out fabric and Anna helped her make some new curtains for her bedroom!
While Grandma was making curtains, Aunt Kate decided the baby room needed help....so the crib and dresser were assembled as well.
So much progress was made.  Not pictured was Papa Dave helping Daddy move all of the wood from his old garage to the new garage.  That was quite a job!!

Mother's Day 2012:
Family of three, soon to be four!

Anna's Official 3rd Birthday:
Of course we had to do even MORE celebrating on May 15, the actual day our princess was born into the world!  She woke up to a special treat of banana chocolate chip muffins for breakfast made by Daddy and Mommy.  She loves banana bread and banana muffins and banana anything!

Picking out her muffin.

Then she got to tear into her presents!

Cool stamps mom!

She got a new playdough set, some princess stamps, and other fun princess toys.

As is tradition in our family, you get to pick where you want to eat on your birthday...well, Anna chose wisely...she wanted a corn dog from Culver's.  This is her current favorite place to eat and the girl loves corn dogs!

Sadly, she dropped the very last bite of her corn dog on the floor and we couldn't let her cry on her birthday, so through her tears she begged for a new one and we caved.  Sister ate almost an entire second corn dog!  What a treat!

A few days after her birthday we got to take a trip to the doctor for her 3 year visit.  She passed with flying colors!  Anna is currently 40 1/8 inches tall (95+ %ile) and weighs 35.2 pounds.  She was just where she should be for her height.  She also got her eyes checked and did very well telling the nurse the shapes she saw on the wall...even the tiny ones!  She even scored herself a Dora sticker--the highlight of the trip--besides having her blood pressure taken.  Very cool!

It's hard to believe that she's three years old already...but she's quite the little lady these days.  She's going to make a great big sister.

Pregnancy Update #2:
Here's the 37 week picture.  Starting to get slightly uncomfortable and really ready to end the school year....I don't think I'd mind too much if I got to end it a bit early!  Today was the 37 week appointment and all is going well...

In Other News:
Other updates in our lives include the sale of our old house.  Pending any other bumps in the road, tomorrow should be closing day on the old house.  Things worked out really well to give us time to move out and we got it sold in a short period of time and it all came together as we hoped.

We are loving our new house and new location.  We have a lot more space, green grass to play in, and lots of neighborhood kids to play with at the park that is only one block away!

Anna's becoming quite the little helper.  Her current favorite thing to help with is laundry.  She asks daily if we can do laundry; since we now have a front load washer and dryer she likes to empty and fill them on her own.  She also puts away the silverware from the dishwasher and is really into helping me cook.  We made granola yesterday that she got to help count the cups and pour the oatmeal into the bowl.  Tonight she stirred the sauce and meat together for lasagna and sprinkled the cheese.

Tonight we also finally finished putting peanut #2's room together.  The curtains are hung, the bed is made, and we even have one car seat base installed in a vehicle just in case!

Here's an update from the pictures earlier...I think it looks a bit better!
 Ready to go!

I also thought I would post a couple pictures of other parts of the house that are finally a little more put together...minus decor.  We still have some second coat painting to do, and it's really hard to not just enjoy the freshly painted walls for a while before putting nail holes in them...

And that's all I got.  Woah.  That was intense.

Hopefully, now that we are more settled into our house, and we have located camera cords, chargers, etc, we will be able to get back on a regularly scheduled blog update routine.  We especially will be excited to post about the arrival of our new bundle of joy!
