Weekend of April 20th: Painting weekend. We got in the house, painted, cleaned, painted some more. We moved the entire kitchen and multiple other boxes we randomly packed from around the house. Here is a picture of one of our painting adventures:
That's Papa Randy, up on our homemade scaffolding painting the entry way. While he was up there, he cleaned the window as well. What a saint!!
That weekend we were shocked by the amount of work we got done, but still overwhelmed by the amount of painting that was left to do...two coats were required on everything. But we'll get there--little by little.
Weekend of April 27th: Friends Pam and Cheri came with a small trailer to help move stuff. Our goal for the day was to just have our beds moved so that we could sleep at the new house, since our kitchen was already there. It was a long week of back and forth between meals and "Oh that's at the other house" comments, so we were ready to kind of be in one place. However, we were again shocked by the amount of work that was completed. We got a LOT of our stuff moved. On top of beds being moved, we also got dressers, couches, chairs, many boxes, and lots of garage stuff moved. It was amazing. We were pretty much moved in. We spent a lot of time on Sunday putting stuff away and unpacking boxes, and brought another load or two over that day as well.
Weekend of May 4: HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN! It was our originally scheduled moving weekend, but with all the progress we had made the weekend before, this weekend got changed to the weekend of moving the rest of the big stuff that Chris can't help carry! Brian's family came up to help and to celebrate Brian and Anna's May birthdays. Everyone was here, and it was so helpful! The men (Brian, Papa Randy, Papa Clyde, and Uncle Jason) got the big TVs moved, chairs moved, the elliptical, and many other large items that were still left. The women (Me, Grandma Lori, Grandma Lois, and Aunt Amy) got things done at the new house. Curtains were ironed, many nooks and crannies were cleaned, and children were entertained. It wasn't an exhausting weekend, we still have plenty to do, but we got some important things done and are still making progress.
We have pictures...but none on our computer right now. We just got back "online" yesterday so we still have some catching up to do with emails and pictures. It's coming along, and soon I'll do some birthday posts and we'll have more birthday celebrations to share...this is a big month in our family. It will be exciting to see if Baby #2 wants in on the May excitement or if they decide to wait until June to have their own month to celebrate. Thirty-five weeks tomorrow...getting very close!
Off to unpack some more boxes....
