Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day was a wonderful day spent with my wonderful family.

We started the day with a nice breakfast and then we headed out to get flowers.  It's a tradition to let Anna pick out my flowers that we plant in our planters and flower beds, so we continued the tradition this year.  Claire watched this year, but next year I'm sure she'll join in the fun of choosing.  We got a lot of purple flowers and then a lot of other varieties.  They all look gorgeous in our front planters.

We tried to fly Anna's new kite from her birthday.

We had a quick lunch while we were out running more errands, getting mulch and the other stuff we needed to put together our garden this year.  We spent the afternoon building our garden box and enjoying the outside.

Time in the sandbox.

Anna helped Daddy build our garden.

Claire enjoyed some dessert after supper.

It was a great day with my favorite people.

Our garden was built on Mother's Day and we got dirt in it on Tuesday.

By Friday we were planting our tomatoes, peppers, onions, carrots, and radishes

In other news...we have a LOT of bird nests around our house.  There are two under our deck, one which has bright blue robin's eggs in it.  We also have this one built into the wreath on our front door....with five more eggs.

We are anxious to hear the little birds!
