Claire Fun Facts:
- Claire loves to identify everyone in the pictures around our house and in her version of a nightly prayer. "Dada, Mama, Aa-aah" and then points to herself and usually says nothing. We've been encouraging her to say Claire, and it's starting to come out "Air."
- Claire is a lover and a fighter. She gives great hugs, kisses, and 'love' by rubbing your face or arm, but she also has sharp elbows and uses them to push her sister off the stool or out of her way. She's our little brute.
- Limits are being tested. She even has a bit of a fake cry that she's been trying out lately to see if it gets her anywhere.
- Claire loves to go to her school. Her favorite teacher is Ms. Tammy. Every morning when Daddy drops her off, she puts her stuff away and then races to get to Ms. Tammy's lap. If Ms. Tammy already has a baby in her lap, Claire is sure to find a way to join in or looks at Tammy disapprovingly and finds another teacher to sit with.
- Claire has always been known to have great hair, and being one of the only Toddlers with hair that is fun to style, Claire comes home with braids and bows semi-regularly. When asked who did your hair the answer is always "Maymie." Ms. Amy is a great hair stylist for toddlers!
- Claire has had a couple of opportunities to hang out with Mommy when Anna was elsewhere, almost the entire time she's asking about Aa-aah and is very concerned as to where she went.
- Sister loves puppies. We were on puppy potty duty for a few days while friends were on vacation and Claire LOVED holding the leash and letting the puppies out and then giving them treats when we got back in. Everyday that I picked her up that week she would squeal with joy and shout "pup-pup" when I told her where we were going.
- Claire does not like balloons, vacuums, or as we discovered tonight, those little party favors that pop out at you when you blow into them. She will NOT get within 4 feet of our vacuum, even when it's unplugged and in the laundry room. You must move the vacuum before she will enter the laundry room. She used to love balloons, but lately has decided she is not a fan.
- Claire loves to snuggle. She likes blankets and pillows and cuddles.
- Every night at bed time Claire MUST get her spot sitting on Anna's pillow. She will cry and pull at anyone sitting too near to her spot.
- Lola is a favorite of Claire's, but Claire is not a favorite of Lola's. Lola has allowed Claire to pet her a few times, but usually steers clear when Claire is around.
- Claire loves a good debate. Her only rebuttal is "No" but girl can go back and forth, even throwing in a few "No, no, no, no, nooooooooooooo"'s.
- Claire is not the most well mannered little girl. She likes to pretend to burp after she drinks her milk sometimes. I think it's those naughty little boys at school that must be teaching her all these bad habits.
- Pasta with cheese or any kind of sauce is a favorite food, along with cottage cheese and bananas.
- "Lolo" is the word for beverage.
- Claire loves to play with the little VTech computer we have. She will sit at the table and keep hitting the same button over and over very happily. She even talks to the computer when it asks her to find a letter. Her response is always "no."
- Sister has a sweet tooth, always game for a cookie or licking the spatula when baking. In fact, she's been known to just help herself to anything while you are cooking. You have to keep a sharp eye on her or everything will get gobbled up or she'll lick the spoon and put it back.
Claire is a joy. Claire can be trouble.
Sister is a wonderful little person, with a great personality and a curiosity about her that is captivating. It's been so exciting to watch her grow and change and develop an awesome relationship and admiration for her older sister. Happy 20 months Claire Bear!
