Today was our first official SNOW DAY. We've had four other "cold" days, but this is our first day off from school because of the snow this year. It was welcomed. Yesterday I stayed home with a semi-sick Claire, so this has turned into a long weekend for me. We'll take it!
We have been productive and having fun all day. Of course the girls got up at their regular time, 6:30, so we had breakfast and then dove right into a fun day.
On Monday I had gotten a big girl mattress for Claire so Brian can start the process of building her a bed, so we got her room rearranged so the new bed fits in along with her crib. She hasn't made the jump to sleeping in the bed, she chose her crib for nap today, but at least she gets to play on it and entertain the idea of a big girl bed.
Her jam packed room with a big bed in it:
The girls have been running around in their jammies all day, or for Claire no clothes. She loves to play babies in Anna's room.
And Anna has been enjoying Polly Pockets in the guest room.
Speaking of our guest room, our chalk board needs a bit of a washing...it still says Merry Christmas!
Baby.
The girls enjoyed jumping on Claire's new bed.
And just being silly.
Smalls loves to listen to Bigs read her books.
But she also likes to read her own books too.
Here's the reason for the snow day:
The drift almost comes to the top of that fence, completely covers our sandbox and is almost over our fire pit chairs.
This is the view out the front door.
And the view down the street. So. much. snow.
The end of our driveway is clear, but those drifts just keep getting bigger. They are higher than our garbage cans.
We're enjoying the day. We had Anna's favorite lunch today, hot dogs and mac and cheese...it was a real treat for a snow day.
The girls are resting now, but will soon be back up and at 'em. I better hurry and get a few things checked off my list before they are up again!
