Anna's 5th Birthday Party

UPDATED with pictures!
*****
Anna has been invited to a few birthday parties of her friends' this year and was really excited to have one of her own.  We've been planning and talking about it for a while now, and the day finally arrived.
The party was on Saturday from 1-3.  Two hours, 13 girls, one good time.

The party theme was princess.  Of course there were princess invitations that went out and a princess cake and princess party favors.  Anna didn't mess around when it came to princesses.

When the guests arrived they got to dress up in some princess clothes if they wanted to, then they went on a Cinderella shoe hunt throughout the yard, chasing the clues.  This turned out to be the highlight for many, they requested we re-hide the shoes and do it again multiple times.

After the shoe hunt, the girls got a canvas and got to paint a masterpiece.  They got to use fancy brushes and paint whatever they wanted.  They made some works of art!

Of course, after art, it was time for CAKE!  They were so excited to eat cake and ice cream.  They crowded around the table all cute like and sang "Happy Birthday" like only 5 year olds can.

After cake it was time for presents.  Everyone was excited about presents.
Anna very carefully read every card and showed everyone each gift she received.  She also remembered her manners and said "thank you" after each present.

After presents, we headed back outside for the grande finale.  The girls got together first for a picture on the porch.  It was hard to get one of everyone looking, so here are a few options.

The last game was Pin the Kiss on the Frog.  They each got a lips coloring sheet and after they colored and cut out their lips, they got to try to put them on our frog.

Here we are in the midst of coloring and cutting and in a variety of stages of dressed up like princesses.

The parents began to arrive as we were finishing up the Frog game, so the timing was perfect.   There was a little chaos finding all the right shoes, treat bags, paintings and parents, but in the end we were only left with these two cuties and no extra shoes in our house.  It was a fun adventure; Anna loved having her friends over.  There were no tears from anyone, just smiles, so I call it a success!
