We just came off of a stellar weekend! The weather was gorgeous, we didn't have any place to be and we did some fun stuff!
Friday night, Brian and I went to the Saints baseball game. It was a good time. The girls stayed home with two babysitters and loved being spoiled by them.
Saturday morning we got up early and the girls and I headed out on my bike with the trailer and did a little morning ride/garage sale-ing. We were successful in our venture, both in purchases and meeting more neighbors. It was a great way to start our day.
Saturday before lunch, we headed to Como Zoo for Anna's final piece of her birthday present. The girls loved the zoo. Anna's favorite part was the gorillas and when asked Claire said the same thing, because she's really into copying everything Anna says right now.
Anna got to use her birthday money to buy a special treat at the zoo. She chose a stuffed zebra and is loving him very much.
Here are our little zoo-goers.
I don't know why, but I love to see them side by side from the back with their long messy hair. They are just so cute together.
After the zoo we hit up DQ for lunch and Dilly Bars! Anna chose cherry.
And even though Claire is into copying Anna she chose chocolate; she's a girl that knows what she likes.
The rest of the weekend we were at home, planting garden, playing in the sandbox and checking out the new nest that Mama Robin has under our deck again this year. We were able to get a great picture of the baby birds in the nest that we can see through the floorboards of the deck (it's a sign we need new decking-but for now we'll appreciate that we can see the birds).
Claire mowed the grass.
Anna worked on her jump rope skills.
The girls have been playing a lot of dress up lately and every time I have to take their picture :)
Anna's been working more on riding her bike with no training wheels. She moved up to the 18 inch bike this weekend because her 12 inch bike tire popped as she was riding. Claire loved to stand at the bottom of the driveway and watch Anna cruise up and down the street.
Funny Claire and Mommy selfie. Claire's idea of course.
And more dress up tonight. These two are goofy.
It was a beautiful weekend and we are looking forward to another one coming up. Graduation for my students is on Friday night and then we have a few graduation parties to go to this weekend, but we'll have plenty of free time for bike rides and park playing.
