It's been quite a while since I've done an update and it's a bit overwhelming to look back at all the pictures we have the need to be organized and stories logged. I'll do that perhaps this summer, but for now, I'll write a post for the two little centers of our life.
Claire is wrapping up her last "semester" of pre-kindergarten. Last month we had Kindergarten Round-Up and she was happy to be a part of the fun. She is really hoping to get the same teacher Anna had when she was in kindergarten. Claire has been busy lately, with the beautiful weather, out riding her bike and the scooter she got for Christmas. On cold days she likes to stay inside and play Sorry! all the time. She came to Mom's school for a week of a mini pre-school put on by high schoolers and she got to meet some of my students. She has been a little excited about one student in particular who taught her some magic card tricks--she practices often.
Claire is VERY independent and wants to do everything that Anna does. She has a basketball camp this afternoon and has been admiring Anna's basketball practices from afar. We are really enjoying the more laid back time we get with Claire while Anna is busy with friends or activities.
When Anna was at a sleepover last weekend, Claire got to have dinner with mom and dad. When it's just Claire, sometimes she gets special treats....like a bottle of rootbeer! (Anna wouldn't mind as she don't really love carbonated beverages anyway.)
After root beer and pizza, Claire got to go out for ice cream too at Ben and Jerry's. It was a pretty big night. She was really happy on Saturday morning, though, when we headed to pick up Anna. She was really missing her big sister.
Claire has had to spend some time on the sidelines lately when Anna's at one of her activities. However, her time is not wasted. At basketball, she practices her dribbling. She was up to 44 dribbles in a row yesterday without losing control of the ball. She can't wait until next year when it's her turn to take the court officially.
This girl is wise beyond her years. She's 4 going on 14. She's sweet, spunky, and a little bit shy and we are really enjoying watching her grow. So much fun to be had this summer!
