Up North

The 3rd weekend in June, we took my parents and siblings and headed "up north."  Most had never been before, so it was a very fun adventure.  We rented a house that had plenty of room for everyone, including a bunk bed room for the kids.  We all had a great time and enjoyed some down time together.

We started our adventures in Duluth.  We walked out on the pier and saw the lift bridge in action.

The kids were excited to hit the candy store of course!

Claire, Anna and Lane by the lighthouse.

Anna checking out Superior.

Claire enjoying the fun in the sun.

My girls.

We headed to Gooseberry Falls and the girls enjoyed climbing around and checking out all the places to have fun.

They always love a little water time.

One of the days we took Grandpa to see Palisade Head.  He isn't much for heights but still enjoyed the view....until Aunt Kate made him nervous by getting close to the edge!

From Palisade we headed to Temperance River.  Selfie with my dad!

Selfie with my hubs!

While at Temperance, we were caught in a little rainstorm....so we took shelter under a deck overlooking the beach and waited out the storm.  Once it passed we got back to rock picking and throwing.

The whole trip was really great weather, great food, great company and lots of fun.  Anna learned to kayak all by herself, all the kids caught fish off the dock with Grandpa, Anna even caught a turtle.  We spent lots of time on the lake in the paddle boat and enjoyed evenings in the house playing Phase 10.  It was definitely a nice long weekend to get away and spend some time altogether.
