Brrr! It's rather chilly outside today and VERY snowy! Today was a great way to end a nice three-day weekend--cuddled up at home while stuck in a snow globe! Hoping for a snow day or at least a two hour delay tomorrow.
We had a very fun weekend, starting with Saturday. We headed up north to visit Anna's first ever buddy Aaron and to celebrate his 2nd birthday! It's so hard to believe we are now looking at two year olds! I didn't take my camera for the event, but perhaps I will get some shots sent my way soon. The kids played together so well and so happily. Most of the ride home Anna asked about Aaron and Simon. She had a great time playing with Aaron and a great time "mothering" Simon. She got his pacifier for him, covered him with blankets, she was a loving little mommy.
Sunday we went to church and afterwards, walked out to the start of yet another winter wonderland. We didn't know it was supposed to start snowing so early, but in the short hour we were inside, Mother Nature had spent some time covering our cars with snow! We didn't let that stop us from doing a quick little shopping spree and grocery stop before we headed home for the day. A nice Sunday afternoon (with no where to be on Monday) was very relaxing and productive.
Today Daddy had to head back to work, but he did get a two hour delay so he got to sleep in at least! And Mommy and Anna had a planned day off! No school today, although had there been it probably would have resulted in a snow day! And what a wonderful day we had....
We practiced our braiding skills on Anna's long locks...
She really does sit without complaining and loves to have her hair done. I love this girly girl!
Lovely.
Give me knuckles Mom for a job well done :)
Anna's latest obsession is "pincesses." She got some "pincess" tattoos for Valentine's Day so here we are putting on the last one...
Checkin' it out.
"Pincess Jasmine"
She really loves tattoos right now. It came off in her bath tonight, and she said "Bye-bye Pincess."
Happy for her tattoo!
This afternoon we headed outside to play in the snow! She looks so tiny in the garage door.
Our first rides on the sled! She loved it!
Making snow balls!
"Throwing snowballs"
Going back for more!
She loved the snow. She sat in it, climbed on it, tunnelled through it. It was fun!
And then we came inside for some hot chocolate (white milk with chocolate syrup warmed in the microwave for about 14 seconds). She even got to have it in a warm mug.
It was so yummy after a hard time of playing outside.
The big cup!
Yum!
And everything was going really well, until she sneezed and spilled it on the floor. So we transfered what was left into a sippy so she could be more mobile.
And she was still really excited about having "hot chocate."
What a wonderful fun day at home!
Looks fun Chris. Brecken was out of daycare all last week sick, after missing the previous 2 weeks with us being in Iowa. We played out in the snow a short while today and came in for "hot choc-eee" and "mosh-moes" after. He was much more excited about the treats afterwards than the snow itself. Brecken continues with his 8th day of steroids, and a toddler on steroids is no laughing matter. It's like the poor kid's body has been taken over. It is miserable for him and us. Glad to see Anna is staying healthy and happy.
ReplyDeleteI love the braids! We did braids (half way down) for the first time this weekend and I was in love! I hope Kallie sits as well as Anna does when we get to the full braid point. I am also envious she can drink out of the cup. We have tried several times but it just goes everywhere! Anna is such a big girl!
