Proud Big Sis

I'm sure by the time June finally rolls around, Anna is going think this baby is NEVER going to come and that we've been lying to her this whole time.  We've already been talking about her new brother or sister for months and still no new baby!  Only about 16 weeks go to until life gets even more interesting and exciting.

I do, however, think it's been great that we have been talking about it as much as we have, because Anna is finally really "getting" it and seems rather excited about it all.

Conversation from a couple days ago when I was picking her up from daycare:

Britta's Dad:  Anna, I hear you are going to be a big sister!
Anna:  Yes!  My mommy has a baby in her tummy!

It was just the sweetest thing how proudly she declared that she was going to be a big sister; especially since just weeks ago she wouldn't even really say anything at all to Britta's dad, other than look at him like he was crazy any time he talked to her.

Later that day we were talking about where the baby might sleep.....since we only have two bedrooms upstairs in our current home, this is still up for debate (but hopefully we will have a solution for this problem rather soon....).

Me:  Anna, when the baby gets here where should he/she sleep?
Anna:  In mommy and daddy's room.  Or in my room.
Me:  But what if the baby cries and wakes you up.
Anna:  I will just say, 'shhhh... go to sleep.'

Sounds to me like she is very prepared to be a big sister.  And I hope she's right about the part where just telling the baby to go to sleep will work like a charm!
