Happy Monday!
We had a great weekend as a family, doing some house projects, relaxing, and just enjoying not having anywhere to be at a certain time. Saturday Anna got to go hear Dr. Suess books read at Target and then we hit up Menards for some home improvement project needs. Then it was home again to start the bathroom project. We finally, after 6 years, put some time into sprucing up the downstairs bathroom. It was functional before, but now it's a little more beautiful. Brian worked Saturday on the improvements, and made a lot of progress. We have a few little finishing touches, but overall, it was a successful little project.
Sunday we headed to church and Anna was brave and went to the Toddler Room after children's time, or as she calls it the "teeter totter room." She was a little timid at first, but found her courage and by the time we got back she was jumping around throwing the ball and having a blast. She's getting brave!
And tonight is Monday. The start to another week. One that may involve a snow day (here's hopin'!). It was girls night, as many Monday nights are, and Anna is getting accustomed to doing something fun on girls night. So after a trek to the library, we came home, ate supper, and busted out the art projects...
Oops, I mean the triple-double Oreos....one of the many benefits of being pregnant...eating these and feeling NO guilt.
And we did do the art project thing too. Anna loves sporting her art apron from her friend Brecken.
We went big tonight, with lots of art and lots of options.
First were the finger paints. Anna has done finger paints before, but I think that was before she became girly. She wanted to use the stick first, because she didn't want to get dirty on her fingers.
But that didn't last too long...the stick was a disappointment so she dove in with one finger...
But had to wipe it on the napkin frequently.
Then she got daring and went for two fingers...
And soon everything got out of control!
Masterpiece!
After fingerpaints, we did dotters--sorry no pictures.
Then we moved to watercolors.
Here is Anna very focused on writing her name.
Almost to the end of her name. (It's a pretty long name, you know.)
Here's a video of her spelling her name for you....
So proud! She's our little creative genius!
We had a night cap of library books and cuddling in Anna's bed. I do so love the fact that we went with the full-size bed for her. It's so great that we can all fit in at night for stories and cuddles with no one falling out.
And now she's snoozin' and I'm relaxing. Peaceful.
In other news, today marks week 25 for baby #2 in utero. He/She is growing fast and getting to be pretty demanding, just like big sister. We had an appointment on Friday and all was well. Heartbeat 152, measuring right on, all set up for our next appointment, 28 weeks and a glucose test. Oh boy! Anna will get to come to that appointment, she loves to hear the heartbeat. She's so excited to be a big sister. She proudly wears her big sister jammies many nights and loves to talk about the baby coming in June and how she will help with the baby and where the baby will sleep. It's so exciting that she's into it. Hopefully it stays that way after baby is here!
25 week photo:
In the picture it doesn't look quite as big as it feels!
This week is supposed to bring lots of snow!! We've got our fingers crossed for a snow day or an early out or late start or any combination of the above! The weekend also brings family visiting, Grandpa Dave, Grandma Lynn and Aunt Kate are coming Saturday. Should be a fun week!
Brecken is so happy that Anna is enjoying her art supplies- It looks like you ladies had a great night!!!! Apparently it worked out well that she got her birthday present 9 months late????? OOOOOOPS! :)
