Easter

Easter weekend we packed in the car and headed to Iowa.  This was our first trip in the past 3 years that only took us 3.5 hours to get there.  We had sandwiches in the car and had one bathroom break for the 2.75 year old and her pregnant Mommy!  It was amazing how fast the trip went with only one stop.  And to think, Brian and I used to drive it non-stop.  While those non-stop days are over, it was nice to keep moving and get there quickly.  However, since the next time we travel to Iowa will be with a newborn, we're pretty sure it will be another 3 years before we see drive times like that!  Back to 5 hour trips to Iowa...

Along with the great drive time, we had a great weekend.  Friday we were able to get there while it was still light out and visit with all of our family.  Saturday we spent the day with Grandma Lynn, Papa Dave, Aunt Kate and Uncle James.  There was an Easter egg hunt involved and Anna loved finding her first batch of eggs!  Saturday night we went to church and then enjoyed some dessert after!  It was a nice day of relaxing and enjoying the company of family.

Sunday we got up and went to church and then went back to Grandma Lori and Papa Randy's for another Easter egg hunt!  Anna and Will loved finding their eggs and it was a nice day for an outside hunt.  We enjoyed a lunch and birthday celebration with Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma and Aunt Amy, Uncle Jason, and Will too!  It was Great-Grandma and Amy's birthday weekend!  Of course there was cake!

We took quite a few pictures of the Easter weekend, but I can't seem to locate my camera cord right now, so those may have to wait for another post.  I do have a family picture from the day to share:

We had a nice weekend and even made the journey back in about the same amount of time as we did going there!  Anna is such a great traveler these days!  Hopefully she can teacher her new sibling to be the same way!

This week we have a LOT going on in our family.  Today I'm 32 weeks pregnant...for some reason that just sounds too close to the end of pregnancy for me!  It's gone so fast and is going to continue to do so with all that is going on around here.  I'm feeling pretty good though, so hopefully I can keep up the energy as we have a few projects coming up.  Tomorrow afternoon Brian and I are going to close on our new house.  We had the final walk-through last night and Anna got to pick out her new room.  There are four bedrooms upstairs, which is so wonderful, and two we had determined would be the kids' rooms.  So, Anna got to choose which one she wanted.  One is a little smaller than the other, but has a bigger closet and a corner window and of course this is the one Anna picked!  She loved the closet the most--typical girl!  Right now it has one light blue wall and she made it pretty clear yesterday that she didn't like the blue wall, she wants purple.  I reassured her that we have the paint she picked out and by the end of the weekend it will probably be on the walls.

We are all very excited about the new house and the space we will gain.  However, it will come with a little work, as usual.  We love our house projects!  Tomorrow night we'll head over and make our list of things to do this week and get started on some cleaning.  We've got lots of nail holes to fill and prep work to do before our painting crew (aka Papa Randy) arrives this weekend!  Grandma Lori is coming to be on entertaining duty with Anna.  We are thrilled that they will be here to help and I'm sure we'll get a lot accomplished!  Hopefully in the next three weeks we'll get everything moved over there and get settled.  Luckily we have a little overlap before we close on our current house with our buyers, so we don't have to rush too much.

There might be a bit of a lull in our blogging...but rest assured we'll be back with stories of moving, birthdays (both Brian and Anna are in May!!), and other adventures!
