Fishes, Playdates, and Walking, Oh My!

This week was a busy one...back to work and school and daycare. It was hard to get back in the swing of things, but I think we're better after a nice relaxing weekend. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

We had a busy week though on top of getting used to getting up early! Monday night we went out for Burgers with Gary and Colleen...we owed them since ISU only beat the Gophers by 1 point. Thursday night we all went an watched Brian bowl...Anna and I only made it through the second game before it was time to head home and put Anna to bed. Then finally it was Friday!

Friday night was a stay at home and relax night, until we realized we didn't have anything for supper...so we went out for supper and made a Target run. Then when we got home, Anna was ready to play. She played and played until 10:00! Usually she's in bed by 8:00 so we were hopeful this meant she would sleep in...and she did! Saturday morning at 9:30 our "alarm" went off! It was wonderful. We spent the day hanging out at home, getting some things done and relaxing and then in the afternoon Anna's friend Brecken brought his parents over so we could hang out and have pizza.

Of course Anna and Brecken had a great time. Anna LOVED Brecken. Brecken had fallen asleep on his way over, and Anna was determined to wake him up! He was so contently sleeping in his car seat and Anna kept poking at him, and laughing at him, obviously excited for him to wake up and play! They played with toys for a long time...Anna wore poor Brecken out! Of course we got some pictures of the two...very cute!

Today we just lounged around and enjoyed the down time. Anna took a very long nap this afternoon, so Mommy decided that she would too! We ran our errands tonight...grocery shopping fun! And now we are home, Anna's in bed, and we're gearing up for another week!

On to the pictures....

Anna LOVES our fish tank. Sometimes there's a little too much algae on the glass to see in, but Daddy cleared it out this weekend so she loves pulling herself up to see the fishes!

Sunday morning lazy...playing ball with Daddy. Anna also loves to play roll the ball. She gets really excited when you roll it to her and even tries to roll it back...but really it's just lucky if it moves from her hands!

And for the walking part of the title....

No, Anna isn't walking on her own. But she walks around everything. She's been pulling herself up for a few weeks now, and is getting braver every day. She goes from the coffee table to the couch and back again. Here is a progression of her going along the coffee table...

She loves to chase the kitties...and now is fast enough to catch them from time to time. Lola wants nothing to do with Anna, but Pascal will sometimes let her "pet" him.

She also is very aware of were the kitty food is located. On occasion she will beat us to the food and get herself a handful or a mouthful...sometimes she goes in face first just like the kitties!

Puckered lips! Anna loves to give kisses; however, they are never with puckered lips. Most often they are more of a lick on your cheek. So sweet, but so slimy.

Once again, another week has passed and Anna is growing like a weed. It's unbelievable the things she learns every day. This week we are spending Thursday together because Ms. Sandra is closed for surgery on her hand. So Anna and I are going to do lunch, perhaps some shopping, who knows! Mother-daughter day! Yay!

This weekend is a three day weekend...we all have Monday off--Daddy too! This weekend her friend Aaron is coming on Saturday and her friend Nathan is coming on Sunday. It will be a fun, busy weekend!
