15 Month Stats

Today was Anna's 15 month well-baby appointment.  As suspected, she's growing!  I went back to compare her 15 month stats to her 12 month stats, and then I realized, I don't think I posted them...so I'll do a comparison post here instead :)

Height
12 months:  32 inches (>95%)
15 months:  32.25 inches (90%)  Apparently she didn't grow too much, but she's still up there in height...perhaps her friends will start catching up!
Weight
12 months:  25 pounds, 4 ounces (>95%)
15 months:  26 pounds, 12 ounces (95%)  She's also slowing down on the weight gaining.  I think she's starting to thin out a little...she doesn't seem to have as much of the pot belly as she used to...she's still got the chubby legs though--love them!

Head
12 months:  48.1 cm (>95%)
15 months:  48.7 cm (>95%)  She's still got a big ol' head :)

She checked out well at her appointment today.  We had a great talk with Dr. Maggie and go back in November for her 18 month appointment (and a flu shot appointment sometime between now and then).  I believe she said that after her 18 month appointment there will be no shots at the 2 year appointment.  Something to look forward to; Anna hates the shots and so does Mommy!  She cried and screamed really loud today when she got her shots, but then when the nurse came back in she gave Anna two stickers that had puppies (pup-pup) on them and she was thrilled!  She loves puppies.

We talked today about things coming up...in the next few months Anna should start getting better with her utensils at dinner.  We're supposed to get a potty chair so she can practice sitting on it and liking it before we start potty training, probably around 18 months Maggie said we could start...whenever she starts showing interest.  But she recommended getting the chair so Anna can get used to it and not be scared of it.

We also talked about tantrums and shyness and all the other fun things that come with a 15 month old.

Anna was pretty worn out after the appointment; we came home and rocked and she is out!  Tired girl.  Hopefully we have a fun day when she wakes up, no fevers or aches from shots please!

Yesterday we went to get 15 month pictures taken and Anna wanted NOTHING to do with it. They got 2 shots (not keepers) and I said, we'll come back another time. She was NOT going to sit down unless it was on Mommy's lap. Perhaps we'll do a family shoot instead!  The shyness thing is very new.  She's extra clingy and today did NOT like Maggie touching her or poking at her at all.  She just wanted Mommy.  Poor girl.  They said that the 15 and 18 month appointments are the hardest for the kids.

This weekend will be a nice one for her to recover from today.  Tomorrow we're going to a splash pad with Anna's friend Nathan and his new baby brother Evan and of course their parents.  Anna and Nathan will love it, running around getting wet, what more could they want?!  Other than that, it's going to be a pretty low key weekend.  We're still thinking about gearing up for school, but we don't want to think about that too soon!  Next week is the last official week of summer :(  We have mixed feelings...I suppose a little more routine in our lives might be nice!
