Mommy's Birthday Weekend!

Friday was Mommy's Golden Birthday.  28 on the 28th!  And what a wonderful day it was!

Friday Grandma and Grandpa F came up to spend the weekend.  We started off with a birthday dinner at Jason's Deli!  Delicious!  Of course the best part was making our own ice cream cones at the end!  This is where Anna had her first ice cream cone a few weeks ago.  (Her first one all by herself anyway.)  So for this trip, she was already a pro.  She loved making the cone and of course eating it!

Mommy and Anna with their ice cream cones!
Anna was great at licking the cone.  We only had to "fix" the cone a couple times.  She ate every last bite!
 Mmmmm!
Getting close to the end.  Her chin was getting chilly!
On our way home from dinner we had to stop at the grocery store.  While Mommy wasn't looking Anna picked out some flowers for Mommy and with Grandma's help even filled out a card and got them all wrapped up!  She was very proud of the flowers, she wouldn't let them go for the whole ride home.
Once home, Mommy got to open her presents.  Of course Anna got a little present too!
Then Anna helped Mommy open her present!  (Thursday night Anna and Daddy gave me their presents and she opened all of them for me too! :))
One of Anna's favorite games of the weekend was bossing around Bailey the puppy.  She enjoyed holding onto his leash and being "in charge."
 Holdin' on to Bailey!
She thought it was a tug-o-war!
Look Mom! I can do the splits!  (One day last week Anna and I were playing after daycare and she started doing this and saying "spitz." I finally figured out that she learned how to do the splits at daycare...she copies everything the big girls do!)
Playing with her tea set.
 Showing off her glasses!
Lego time!  She's getting to be a big time builder now...much less knocking everything down, much more building towers and sorting colors!
Of course, no birthday would be complete without a birthday cake, made by Anna and Daddy!  (Check out the pretty flowers on the table from Anna!)
Saturday morning brought lots of smiles from Anna!
Until she finally crashed and fell asleep on the pillow in the living room.  She did not want to take a nap in her bed, but finally decided the time was right to crash...just as long as she was still in the middle of the excitement.
 Night-night!
Saturday afternoon we went to a bowling fundraiser for our friend Shari's Relay For Life team.  Anna spent lots of time coloring with Grandma.
She also got the chance to try her hand at bowling.  She picked out the pink ball of course.
 Posing with her ball!
Her first time throwing a ball down the alley.  Daddy was so proud!
Push!  She even got some pins!
Finally, on Sunday, the boys had a project.  What's a trip with Grandma and Grandpa F without a project?!  Daddy's ice house needed a new home...the family room was not a good choice.  So the boys rigged up this little contraption for the ice house to live.  Very nice!
Our weekend was fabulous.  Lots of things accomplished, lots of playing time, lots of fun.  Although, there were a few bumps along the way.  Anna's cold got the best of her on Saturday afternoon and she had a fever.  Then Sunday she was much better, until early evening.  We decided to stay home Monday and glad we did.  We went to the DR and got some meds.  Already she's feeling much better!

Back to our regularly scheduled lives tomorrow with work and daycare.  Then we're looking forward to another fun weekend with Lindsay and Andy!  Hip-hip-Hooray!
