We are a couple of days into our spring break together and it is awesome! Yesterday we stayed home and enjoyed some relaxation. Anna requested to watch a movie, picked by her, Shrek. She even knows how to push the button the Blu-Ray player to change the disk; and you can never leave a disk in there if you aren't watching it anymore! Anna is really into pretend play and it's so fun. She's full of imagination and creativity. We spent lots of time in her room playing with her babies and kitchen. Of course, her bedroom door has to be closed, so no unwanted visitors enter. Even Pascal gets kicked out sometimes. She's getting very independent and somewhat bossy.
This morning Anna wanted to dress herself and I was told to leave her room so she could choose on her own. She had quite a time putting some shorts on her head, at one point a shirt was around her waist like a skirt, and in the end she looked OK. I did finally sneak my way in so I could give suggestions. I was hopeful that we could at least put something together that was appropriate for public. It was still quite a masterpiece, but it was presentable!
Once she was ready for the day, we went to the play structure in Eden Prairie. We hadn't been since last fall. Anna stills loves that place. She loved climbing and the slides and I think we probably could have stayed there all day long. We met our friends Jessica and William there. William is just over a year and this was his first experience. Anna had fun showing him all the cool things to play with.
We came home around noon and had lunch and then began a birthday experiment. Anna's birthday is still a month away or so, but we are getting excited and have been crafting ideas for birthday cakes. So today we attempted one and it turned out all right. Anna is probably going to be responsible for her own cake decorating...she really loved doing it and had a great time. Could be interesting!
One last interesting thing to note: Anna has great manners. She is very polite and always says "Thank you" for anything you give her or do for her. Sometimes it's almost too much...as she will continue to repeat, "Thank you mama, thank you mama, thank you mama" until you get a chance to say "You're welcome Anna." She's a doll.
We have a few more play dates and fun activities planned this week. We are going to enjoy spring break to the fullest!
