This has been one of the most fun, productive spring breaks I have had in a long time. We didn't go on any fancy trips, but had the best staycation with Mommy and Anna (and evenings with Daddy) we've had in a while! I think that it helps that Anna is to an age where she is so interactive and fun and communicates so well that it's been very stress free and fun to be at home! We've played lots of pretend in her kitchen in her room, colored lots of pictures, baked some goodies, spent time with friends, watched a moofie, and just had fun together.
Monday we spent the day at home doing some cleaning and tidying. I had a few things on my list of things to accomplish for our "spring cleaning" and we got them all done! Anna really was a great helper. She helped clean out and reorganize closets, she helped dust, sweep floors, fold laundry. It was a very productive day.
Tuesday we went to Eden Prairie to play on the play structure. Anna hadn't been since last year, so I was anxious to see how she liked it now that she is more able to climb and run and jump. She LOVED it. I think we could have stayed all day long. Before we left, Anna was very adament that she dress herself. I was kicked out of the room a couple times because "Anna do it!"
The dresser drawers were UN-organized and clothes were everywhere.
Anna's getting better at dressing herself, but it's tricky to make sure everything gets in the right holes...
Not the right one.
Trying a new one.
Now for some bottoms...because the Hawaiian shirt she was previously wearing as a skirt just wasn't cutting it.
Maybe plaid.
Back to the dotted shorts...but I think she was confused as to where they go...
This was kind of a look of desperation...I think at this point I was allowed to step in and give my suggestions...although not all ides were accepted.
Wednesday we spent most of the day at home. We got some more things done around the house and had some PJ time. Here is Anna in her snowman jammies, trying to give Pascal a goldfish. She really loves to share. Last week when Bailey the puppy came up she loved feeding him his food; she's a little disappointed every time Pascal snubs her offers.
Thursday we had Anna's good little friend Oliver and his mommy Laura over to play. The kids always play really well together. Anna has spent time at Oliver's house when Sandra is closed and mommy has to work. They are about 6 months apart, but it's fun to see how that matters less and less the older they get. We didn't get any pictures of Anna and Oliver, it's kind of like two little tornadoes running around, hard to get a picture. There were some priceless moments though, they held hands and did "Ring Around the Rosey" together a few times; they also pushed at pulled at the toys the other one had that they wanted to play with. Anna struggled a bit to share her toys, but in the end, she did pretty well and woke up from her nap asking for more Oliver. When I told her he went "bye-bye" she asked for a "new one?"
In the afternoon I was able to capture on film something very rare...
Anna and Lola within 6 inches of one another.
Lola usually runs for her life when she sees Anna...but Anna's getting much better about the way she approaches Lola and apparently she caught Lola on a very good day yesterday.
Lola even accepted a kiss from Anna.
Such a happy, loving little girly girl.
Today we have spent the day doing a little grocery shopping for some healthy snacks to take on our trip to Fargo. We did some packing and are almost ready to go. We are excited to make the short trip, but sad that when we get back we all have to go back to school and work and daycare. It's been a long time (two whole weeks) since Anna has been to Sandra's. I'm sure she'll fall right back into the routine.
We're hoping to get some great pictures this weekend of Anna at her second waterpark. Hopefully this one is more fun for her than the last time we went. She's got her floaties, swimming suit, and flip-flops ready to go!
