Monday was Anna's first day at her new school. This was kind of a trial run to introduce her to the new school and attempt to make this fall a very smooth transition. It was a huge success. Anna had a great first day at her new school and I think she wishes she could go everyday now!
Daddy dropped her off and reported that while there was a little hesitation, she jumped right in when her teacher asked for help setting up for the day. Her teacher, Miss Jessica, was wonderful and said that Anna fit right in and joined in all activities. She said there were a few times during the day she forgot that Anna was even new to the school and it was one of the easiest drop-offs and visit days she's ever seen.
We were a little nervous. Anna was very comfortable going to Sandra's house, so we weren't sure how the transition to a larger center and school setting would go. Once again, our big girl has impressed us and made us very proud. She was brave to start her new school! We think this transition is going to be a piece of cake once school starts up in the fall!
Anna reported back on what she had for lunch and snacks, what toys they had there, that she got to take a rest on a mat, and all the other fun things. She couldn't remember her new friends' names, but I'm sure in time that will come!
Here is our big girl on her first day!
She brought along Reuben to cuddle with at nap time.
While Anna was away at her first day of school, Claire and I had a mommy-daughter day, complete with a visit to the mechanic to get our car fixed and a DR appointment. How very exciting and action packed our day was!
