Happy 4-week birthday Claire! Part of me has a hard time believing it's been 4 weeks already and the other part can't believe it's ONLY been 4 weeks! Sister Claire has changed already so much in her first 4 weeks and is really starting to get some personality. We seem to be able to read her pretty well and things have been going fairly smoothly. We've seen a few glimpses of those dimples in alert time smiles--not intentional smiles, but we're getting closer!
Today we got up and ready for our day and headed to Sandra's house (Anna's old daycare) to visit Anna's friends and introduce them to her new sister. Anna was very excited to see her new friends and give hugs to Sandra. We stayed for circle time songs and stories. It was fun to observe Anna in her "school" environment. She was a very active participant in songs, books, and letter and number flashcards. After our visit we had some paperwork to drop off at Anna and Claire's new school, so we stopped there too. After everyone oohed and ahhed over Claire's hair and how cute both girls are (of course), Anna was disappointed to leave...she wanted to stay and play. I love that she wanted to stay because in two weeks she is going to have her first official day at her new school--so hopefully her want to stay will still be there that day and make it an easy one! Sometimes new situations aren't our favorite...
After we got home, we ate lunch and played Polly Pockets and with babies. We also thought it would be fun to do a sister photo-shoot. So, here were some fun pictures of our morning.
Anna was pushing her baby in the stroller.
Claire watched Anna pushing her baby. Whenever Anna would pass by, Claire's head would turn to follow. She's in awe of big sister.
Yay!
Sisters in the big chair together.
Check out those legs...between the two of them we are going to have a lot of legs! Jeans shopping will be an adventure--and possibly very expensive. I did promise them both that they will always have jeans or pants that are long enough for them...no tall girl should have to have jeans too short (especially in middle school). So even if we have to eat peanut butter and jelly for a month, we'll get these girls some pants that fit! :)
After the girls had their photo-shoot, Anna wanted a turn behind the camera. Here are a few shots she got. Frankly, I'm impressed with her mad camera skillz!
Maybe a little crooked here.
Cute shot Anna!
Not sure if this one was Anna missing Claire or Claire falling over....
Up close with Claire.
This one, I took...she just looked so big!
In other randomness....
Our weekend was great, got a lot of things done, did some shopping, bowling, and crafting.
Poor Claire didn't have any art on her walls, so I decided we needed to start personalizing her room. I bought some canvases and made her a little name artwork...well of course, Anna needed one too, so with her help we made her one too (she got to choose the colors). Below is a picture of Anna's art. Funny thing is, Anna's is already hung and Claire's still isn't...mostly because she's either sleeping in her room or needing to be fed so I can't hang it in either case...that will be our goal today...get Claire's art hung FINALLY!
This week is full of lots of fun stuff. We're going to Mommy's school this week to get some things done and start thinking about the fall...it's coming up fast! We also get to go to Daddy's softball game this week and we have some fun weekend plans!!
Hopefully more pictures to come soon!
