Halfway through another year of fun with our Claire! Wednesday she hit the 18 month mark and we are not sure how it happened; time has gone so fast! Our baby is growing fast, we went to her 18-mnoth well baby and she checked out well. Here are her stats:
Weight: 27 pounds, 10 ounces, 95%ile
Height: 33.5 inches, 93%ile
Head: 49.5 cm, 99%ile
Claire is running, climbing, attempting to jump, and anything else physical. She does not like to sit still for long, unless she has markers, in which case she will color for a long time on paper, tables, her own body, whatever needs a little splash of color.
She is a copier, loves to mimic big sisters funny antics; if it gets a laugh Claire will try it.
Claire does not like to keep her shoes on, it is more fun to take them off and then try to put them back on multiple times. Mittens and hats and often pants are optional as well.
Her vocabulary is growing exponentially right now. She will now parrot words when asked, and if she does not think she can say it, she just tells you "no." Her communication is fabulous now, as she answers both yes and no to questions and now has some basic needs words down so we can usually figure out what she wants. This is cutting back on the breakdowns she has when she's frustrated that we don't know what she wants; this makes everyone much happier!
Dancing is a favorite activity; music is a frequent request.
It wouldn't be a Claire post without mentioning her hair. It is finally falling to the side of her face and not as much in front, so she doesn't have to wear it in a hair tie every day. This is good, because she says "ow!" and pulls aways anytime you touch her hair as she saw Anna do this once when she was getting detangled!
Claire is still a good eater, her favorites are pasta of any kind, yogurt, fruit and and of course sweets. Sister can spot a chocolate being eaten from half a mile away.
Everyday is an adventure; she's learning and growing quickly and has a great smile that keeps us all smiling! Happy 18 months ClaireBear!
