Anna's Christmas Secrets

We thought this would be the year that Anna would be a great secret keeper.  She wants to be a part of getting Christmas presents for everyone, and had even been fairly good about keeping the gifts a secret from the giftee.  Except for when she walked into the house after a trip with Daddy to Target and said, "Mommy we did NOT buy you slippers for Christmas," she had a clean record of secret keeping.  And technically she didn't tell the secret, she told me what she didn't get.

But then this morning she came out with another secret.  Out of no where, while putting on her coat and mittens to head out the door to school she says, "Daddy, we did not get you a router bit and a book about making a canoe for Christmas.  We didn't get you that Daddy."  Brian and I both busted out laughing, because of the randomness of the comment and the fact that there was no way I was going to be able to play that off like she was making it up....how more precise can you get?  She looked at us both cracking up and said, "Why are you guys laughing, it wasn't a funny question?"  Poor girl, she thinks she's keeping a secret, but is obviously bursting at the seams to give these gifts.  She's just like her Momma; Christmas gifts should be given on the day they are purchased.  Secrets are no fun to keep!
