Reunions & Birthdays in Iowa

This past weekend we were ready to embrace summer with school done and the weather beautiful.  We  combined a few events into one weekend with a trip to Iowa.  Below is some of the fun that we had on our journey.

Anna wanted to have her picture taken with the bear at A & W after we ate supper there.

Trips to Iowa take a long time so we have to get out and play often.

Saturday we got to go to Daddy's 15 year high school class reunion.  It was a great time.  We toured our old high school which has had many fabulous updates; made us a little jealous that we weren't in high school now....but then we realized we are good with being done with high school.

We went to a potluck lunch with many of daddy's classmates and Anna made instant friends with Natalie, a daughter of one of daddy's classmates and good friend.

Attempting to get a picture of many of those at the potluck.

Natalie, Katherine, Anna and Claire.  These girls had so much fun together.

Hugs before we go!

Saturday afternoon we got to see Grandma Lynn & Grandpa Dave and crew.  We enjoyed chatting with them and playing games for the afternoon.

Saturday evening Daddy and Mommy got to go out to dinner for more reunion celebration.  We enjoyed some time out with old friends, catching up on life.

Sunday we celebrated the girls' birthdays with Grandpa Randy, Grandma Lori, Great-Grandpa and Great Grandma, Amy, Jason, Will and Thomas.  They were all going to come up for the weekend to celebrate, but the class reunion changed our plans, so we brought the celebration to them.

I made a couple cakes per the specifications of Anna and Claire.

Claire's cake.  She wanted it yellow with blue sprinkles.

Anna wanted pink with blue sprinkles.

I think they turned out all right...and tasted good, so that's all that matters!

The girls and their cakes.

Anna enjoyed some karaoke to the Frozen soundtrack.  Sister knows all the words to every song.

Claire got a selfie with her birthday hat on.

Everyone had a nice time in Iowa and traveled back fairly well.  We were excited that we got to start our official summer vacation on Monday!
