We have been busy, busy, busy already this summer. I always think that summer is going to be so relaxing and lots of sitting by the (inflated) pool and putting my feet up, but it never is quite that way. And we are all OK with that!
We've gone to library story times, gymnastics, picnics in the park, book camp, bike riding, swimming and slip-n-sliding, and many other fun places. Here are some pictures from the past couple weeks from my phone and the adventures that we have had.
Anna was at book camp last week with her newest "bff" Lucy. We had a lunch date with Lucy and her mom and sister after book camp one day and then Lucy came home with us to go to story time at the local library. They had a miniature horse at the story time and the girls got to pet him. He was a very laid back horse, so much so that he laid down and let all the kids pet him.
Then the girls spent some time playing in the park on the teeter-totter.
Claire enjoyed the merry-go-round...excuse my finger in the picture.
Last weekend we went to a new-to-us state park and camped with our good friends and their children. We had a great time tenting it. The park had some great activities for kids to participate in including a frog hunt where we didn't hunt but did get to see some frogs, tadpoles, and Anna got to hold a garter snake. We went on a nice long bike ride and just enjoyed time with our friends. These kids just keep getting cuter and more fun!

The girls loved copying mommy and wearing their bandanas too...they really are great for keeping the sun off your head and for hiding that bad camping hair.
This week we've been busy playing outside, the weather has been great.
Anna wanted to have a parade outside with the instruments, Claire enjoyed beating on her drum outside and mommy didn't say that she should stop :)
Anna spends a lot of time practicing her cartwheels in the yard. Here she ended her cartwheel back on her feet!
Silly girls!
Wednesday we went to the free movie at the local theater. It was Despicable Me and the girls got to wear their minion t-shirts from Aunt Katie. They loved the movie, although it was about 20 minutes too long for Claire. She kept asking, "Go now, Mama?"
We have done quite a few bike rides and the girls love to ride to the park about a mile from our house. It's rarely busy and they have great swings.
Last night the girls were due for a bath, so we added some bath fun with glow sticks in the dark.
Today we ran to gymnastics and then had a pool party date with our neighbors. The girls all play together so well! Tomorrow is gymnastics camp for Anna so Claire gets to spend some extra time with Mama. She really enjoys being the only child for a few hours, although she asks frequently, "Anna go?"
This weekend we are looking forward to another great time with more good friends. We love summer! It's so busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
