Phone Update

It's been a while since our last update, and I do take pictures on a very regular basis, but we've run into a problem where they are all on my phone.  Our nice camera hasn't been used this summer because it's having battery issues and we haven't taken care of it yet, but at least I got a nicer phone so I can capture our summer via phone camera.  Below you will find some of our highlights over the past couple weeks.
A day of biking in the rain.

Anna helping Claire get her bedtime drink.

These two are becoming such good friends!  They have sleepovers almost every night in each other's room.  It's a rotation, but many nights we listen to giggling and chatter as they are supposed to be sleeping.

We have enjoyed a lot of time in the parks this summer.  Anna is becoming quite the acrobat!

And Claire is working on her skills as well.

Many afternoons we end up wiped out and napping.  This particular afternoon we opted for a movie and Claire didn't make it long.

We've had some adventures, trying new things.  We checked out a drive in and got to eat in the car for lunch one day.  The girls loved eating in the car!

Claire has been a trooper as Anna has most of the activities that we are running to and she's great at patiently waiting.  This was one of our days waiting in the gym while Anna finished up at gymnastics.

Anna is my mini chef.  She made the dessert we took to Iowa almost completely by herself.

Dishes duty for these girls.

In mid-July we headed to Iowa for a family get together and the girls enjoyed playing on Uncle James's farm.  Grandpa Dave gave them a ride in the tractor.

They also got to go to the county fair while we were in Iowa and pet a lamb.

And they checked out the rabbits with Grandpa Clyde.

After our weekend in Iowa, we came back north and enjoyed a first ever visit from our favorite Aunt Judy and cousin Grace.  We couldn't believe they had finally made it so we took their picture!

We went downtown to see Mary Tyler Moore's statue of course.  And we enjoyed dinner at The Local.  They wanted to check out the Mall of America so we joined them for some shopping the next day.  It was great to have visitors!

Last week was a busy week of VBS!  This was Anna's first VBS at our church and my first time being in charge of the snack station.  We were all exhausted by the end of the week, but it was a great fun week!

Anna was in the Scientist group, and was excited to have her picture taken as a scientist.

And a builder.

Claire had to check it out too!

We have had some silly afternoons around here after VBS..some sticker fun....

Claire was getting pretty tired of VBS (she was my snack assistant) and crashed with some banana bread and an Elmo on the floor for a while.

Friday was Claire's favorite VBS day, she got to have Freezie Pops.  She may have had 4 or 5 Freeze pops....but she was happy!

This week Anna is enjoying mornings of Kick off to Kindergarten and next week is Book Camp again.  It's been a busy summer and is going so quickly.  We are looking forward to enjoying all that August has to offer before we start that talk of school again.....
