Right now she's sitting on the floor in her big girl undies watching Frozen, singing along to "Let It Go." Yes, she knows most of the words to this song and most of the others on the soundtrack. It's making me smile and think about all the great things about this girl that sometimes don't get recorded because we have been spending so much time soaking it all up I haven't had time to write it down.
We love the way she knows her numbers and is very excited to tell people that she's two and show them her two fingers. She loves to practice counting and has it down up to 10 with her words and fingers. The best part is that she does 3 with her pointer, middle and pinkie fingers. It's just awesome.
We love that she can pedal like a daredevil. She's upgraded to the RadioFlyer trike in the driveway. It's bigger and a bit more to handle, but sister has it. She is brave and likes to get all bikes and scooters she's riding on going as fast as she can and then ride off into the grass. She's great at staying in the driveway, she'll go all the way to the very bottom, but rarely leaves the driveway, and when she does, she knows she's going to get into trouble!
We love the inflection in her voice when she says "Yeaaah" like a true Minnesotan.
We love her squeezes. She's a great hugger and such a loving little girl.
We love that she wants to do everything that Anna wants to do. She often asks, "Baby birds, now?" Anna loves to check on the bird nest on our deck so that means Claire does too.
"Why?" Even though it's the question that keeps on coming, it's still so adorable when she asks after EVERYthing you say, and then again after your answer, and then again, and again, and again...
We love her obsession with putting the lid back on everything. The milk, the toothpaste, the sunscreen. Anything that has a lid, must be replaced as soon as you are done using said product.
I especially love that she enjoys rides on "mama's bike." Last summer she did not like riding in the bike trailer and this summer she can't get enough. We are regulars on the trail and have done some great rides this summer with hopes for many more.
We love that she loves her baby dolls. She puts them to sleep, feeds them, changes them, loves them.
We love that she loves to read. Books are Mommy and Anna's favorites too, so it's great the three of us enjoy a trip to the library. Daddy isn't as much of a library fanatic, but does his fair share of reading books to both girls.
We love her need for routine, but her ability to be flexible in our daily schedule. She has always been a great sleeper, I think it's due to the comfort she finds in our nightly routine. But she also is great at going with the flow and can miss a nap here and there and not be super crabby because of it.
It's not a Claire post without mention of her hair. We love her beautiful, strawberry, straight hair. It's still often in her face and she still doesn't like to have it pulled back, but it's so pretty and often full of yogurt from supper.
We love everything about our little, fast growing, potty training two year old. She's a doll.
