A Nice Weekend

This weekend has been one of those nice weekends where you really don't have any specific plans and can go wherever the road takes you. Friday night we went to Scott and Anne's BBQ. It was a good time; it's always great to see friends! Although, for being the 17th of July, you would have thought it would have been warmer than 55 degrees! Here's Anna all bundled up...she sacked out after supper; before this she was the life of the party! Saturday we all three went to attempt to get some professional portraits done of Anna. We weren't really sure what to expect from Anna, so we thought we'd try out the Target Portrait Studio for the first time. It went almost as well as could have been expected. Anna was content for the first few poses, but got kind of tired of being moved around, clothes changed, etc and after about 15 minutes she was done. We were able to get some good pictures and we may try again sometime soon, especially now that we can go in with a plan for maximizing Anna's happy time. She didn't really want to give out too many smiles, I think that could have been because of all the crazy things to look at and she may have been a little annoyed that the man kept flashing that bright light in her face. We'll try and post some pictures when we get them back.

After pictures, we did a little grocery shopping, Anna's favorite. She always sleeps until the check-out. It's really pretty fabulous. Then we headed home for a nice evening of R & R. We just relaxed together as a family. Anna fell asleep around 8:00 in my arms, and we let her sleep for a long time. We were a little nervous about this because she usually goes to bed for the night at 10:30 and then gets up around 7:00 am. I was sure that we were asking for trouble letting her nap from 8:00 until 10:30 while we watched a movie; however, she woke up at 10:30, we played a little, ate a little and finished the movie and she was in bed around 11:30 or 12:00 and still slept through the night. I was sure it was going to be a VERY early morning for me!
