Random Pictures from Week 10

This week has been less eventful than weeks past, which has been kind of nice to slow things down a bit.

One highlight of the week was our Mommy and Me...or Baby and Me...I don't remember what it's called...class that we are taking every Wednesday for the next month or so. There were 18 other moms with 19 babies from age 6 weeks up to 10 months. It was fun to talk with other moms and see Anna checking out the other babies. She wasn't really into it at first; she slept through the circle time (singing songs and such), and then woke up for the mom's discussion part, and then started crying and fussing when they sang the "Goodbye" song; I think she was sad to leave. Perhaps she'll learn to pay better attention at the beginning next time!

Today we went to Eden Prairie and had lunch with Brian; we brought him a sandwich from Erbert & Gerbert's...YUM. Then Anna and I did a little shopping, unsuccessfully, but it was fun to stroll around and check everything out. We have discovered that she does like riding in her stroller, just not in the car seat, in the stroller. It took some doing, but we figured out how to recline it enough for her to sit in it like a "regular" kid and get all buckled in and look out the front. She seems much happier now that she can see the world; it was hard to see from the car seat facing backwards. Now that we have that mastered, we can definitely do more walks because previously she wouldn't last too long before getting cranky about the whole situation.

This weekend is going to be a nice weekend at home again, travel free. After so many weekends of going and going, it's been great to have so many weekends just at home! Grandma Fiscus and maybe Grandpa Fiscus are going to come up on Saturday to visit, so it will be great to see them. Hopefully it's nice outside and we can enjoy the weather!

Anna chillin' in her bouncy seat (we got this from her friend Oliver--it's the greatest thing ever!)
Anna's first experience in her exersaucer (her head didn't stay up this well for too long, but she seemed intrigued)
"SO BIG!"
Spitting her tongue out!
Anna in the morning. She gets swaddled every night and this is the only way she will sleep through the night (from 10:30 to 7:00ish). Last night we tried not swaddling and she woke up by 12:30, so we re-swaddled and she slept till 7:20. We need to figure out how to make the swaddle bag a little longer, her feet are at the WAY bottom of the bag, she's a little too tall for it now. In the morning, when we undo the velcro swaddle bag, her arms shoot up and she takes a BIG stretch, I'll try to capture a picture of that one of these mornings!
Anna with a bow in her hair.
"They are still making me wear this silly bow."
"Yes, the bow is still in. I sure do look good, don't I?"
We do lots of "tummy time" during the day, so when Daddy gets home it's "standing time."

  1. 4 things
    1. That kid is so darn cute!! I love it!!
    2. I LOVE mommy and me. We attend it religiously. Also, we love our Stroller Fit class that we have here, if you have one around there, you should check it out.
    3. Jack was swaddled while sleeping until he was 6 months old...maybe longer....I LOVE the kiddopotamus swaddler, we had like 6 of them.
    4. We're having a little play mate for Anna in March. If its a girl, they can be girl friends. If its a boy, he and Jack can fight over your sweet girl (lucky girl, 2 great choices!). Either one works :)
