Weekend in Iowa

This weekend was spent back in our home state of Iowa.  It was a nice weekend to just hang out with family and enjoy it.  Saturday morning and afternoon was spent at our old high school stomping grounds watching some good ol' fashioned volleyball.  It brought back great memories of high school volleyball and for a bit I wished I was back playing again.  It was fun to see my sister play and her team did well for the day.  Anna even made it through about three matches worth, with lots of running around in between games.  She loved cheering on Auntie Kate with Grandpa S!

Saturday evening we spent with Grandma and Grandpa F and Great-grandpa (Papa) and Great-grandma (Nana).  We had pizza and Anna played and just had a wonderful time visiting.  Everyone thought she had grown so much since the last time and it has only been about 5 weeks.  She sure does change quickly!

Anna and Papa sharing a laugh.  She thought he was hilarious!
Anna and Nana enjoying some goldfish crackers Nana hid in a toy train.
Mommy and Daddy got to relax while all the grandparents were keeping tabs on Anna!
 Climbing on Grandpa.
 Resting with Bailey.
 Reading books with Grandma.
Trying on a new outfit from Grandma and Grandpa.
Going for a walk in the stroller.
Sunday we went to Uncle James's house and had a barbeque and enjoyed some good family time!

Anna loves Auntie Kate and was snuggled in with her for a long time before she finally crashed after such a full Saturday.
 Anna running with Quinten.
 Carrying the big ball!
 Playing Ball with Kate.
 Checking out the tractors.
 Driving the John Deere.
Uncle James got out his 4-wheeler and we all had a good time!
Even Anna got a little ride.
She even smiled and giggled a little on her short trip (we went very slow).
 Weeeee!
 Daddy rode too!
Auntie Kate and me...we went fast!
Anna with Grandpa, watching the 4-wheeling fools.
 Woah, where did they go?!
Mommy and Daddy going for a ride.
Uncle James took Aunt Kate for a ride and sprayed mud all over...
 Quinten had his own 4-wheeler.
 Kate was covered...
 in lots of mud...
 especially her nice white shoes.
 Yuck.
After all the mud we had a nice BBQ and enjoyed a little DQ cake.  James and I went to get the cake on Saturday and apparently we still have our old DQ connections because they let me go back and decorate it on my own.
The birthday boy and girl!  (55 and 18--the speed limit and the legal adult age--it's a big year!)
 Chillin on the swing.
She didn't want to ride the 4-wheeler.
 She just wanted Auntie Kate.
It was a great time, beautiful weather and good food.  But sadly, every weekend comes to an end and we had to head back north.  We got back, had just enough daylight to mow the grass.  We ate supper and were in bed before 9:00.  We were all sleepy!  We've already started another busy week...we'll hope for some relaxation this weekend.
