It was a fun-filled weekend at our house! Here's a little story of our weekend in pictures...with my commentary of course :)
Saturday morning we got up and headed to Apple Jacks Orchard to meet our friends Jason, Emily, Aaron and new baby Simon and Joshua, Laura, and Oliver. The kids had a great time checking out the animals, running around playing, and of course eating lunch!
Aaron climbing up higher to see the goats.
Anna loves animals.
Oliver, Aaron and Anna are pretty close in age...Oliver will be two in November, Aaron in February, and Anna in May. Interestingly enough, their ages are a reverse of their sizes...Anna is the youngest, yet the tallest and Oliver the oldest, yet the shortest. They loved playing together and it's fun to see how much more actual "together" play takes place. They know each other's names and watch each other play/play together way more than they used to!
Oliver and Anna getting ready for the slide.
Weeee! Anna always says "weeee!" when she gets to the bottom of the slide.
Aaron's turn as Ollie and Anna climb back up.
Anna also found this kiddie maze absolutely amazing. Despite starting out very clingy and shy when we got to the orchard, she took off running for this and ran right in by herself.
She was loving it!
More slide time...this time Aaron and Anna.
And Aaron and Ollie.
After lunch at the orchard, Jason, Emily, Aaron and Simon came to our house to play for the day.
Anna and Aaron played very well together...they enjoyed a little snack at Anna's table.
Anna loved Simon. She loves babies so much!
All three kiddos!
Holding hands or pulling on the same toy?
Oooh, Aaron gave Anna a necklace.
She loves it!
Too cute!
Today we went and got Anna's new winter coat. We thought we should probably do that before the snow sneaks up on us. It's been such a beautiful fall, we've really been pushing our luck not having the supplies needed when winter finally strikes! Last years get-up was a little too small...it was close, we really debated, but in the end we decided, the girl needs to be nice and toasty warm, so here she is modeling her new gear.
We put the hat on and she fell over...apparently that was just too much.
She thought it was fun. She is all ready with new boots and everything. Bring on the snow!
After a late morning nap, Anna ate her lunch at her big girl table.
Smile with food in your mouth!
This year, instead of carving pumpkins, we thought Anna might enjoy painting pumpkins. We have a few so we got out the paints today and gave it a shot. It was a huge hit for Anna. She knew just what to do with that brush and was very focused on her art work.
In her paint gear...tasting the brush...
Wearing an old t-shirt of Daddy's...it's been his paint shirt before, can you tell? We had to tie it up in the back so it would fit.
She got really excited when we got the paints out.
She knew just what to do!
Ooh, red...
Very focused.
Blue!
Her masterpiece. Notice how advanced she is at paint mixing...very professional.
Now for the big one....
Daddy helped...by painting Anna's nose.
Mommy tried to help make a face...
Anna tried to paint Daddy...
Two brushes at the same time!
She went back and forth between the two pumpkins multiple times...perfecting them.
Very intense!
Her works of art.
Beautiful.
Very cute Chris. Eric got a template to do carving, but we were saying that Brecken would probably just throw a fit when we don't let him hold the knife so it might present more of a tantrum than fun. I love the paint idea though- We might have to borrow it!!!
