Anna's Antics

Our last post we mentioned the treacherous twos...well, I think they come and go.  The last round only lasted about four days and since then our little Anna has been an angel.  It really seems like right now she's growing and changing a lot.  Not so much in the physically growing, but the mentally maturing and growing.  Everyday there is a new word or skill or something she wants to do.  She's really becoming Mommy's Little Helper in the kitchen.  She goes in the bathroom and gets her potty chair, which doubles as a step stool and likes to watch/help me with the dishes or cooking or whatever I'm doing that she can't quite see.

On her big girl stool.
 Playing in the bubbles.
She likes when I leave the water running so she can play in that too.
Right now one of her favorite toys is her baby bath tub.  She pulls it out from under her crib daily and puts her babies to "sleep" in it with blankies and sometimes she goes to "sleep" in it with her babies.  At least we're still getting some use out of this thing!
 Hi Mom.
Taking a nap in her tub.
Electronics are also a favorite toy of Anna's.  She gets my phone for me every morning off my nightstand and loves to "talk" on it all the time.  Mommy always has to "fix" her phone before Anna plays with it (lock it up!).  The latest fascination is with the camera.  She wants to see the pictures you just took on the back and tonight she wanted to take the pictures.  So I showed her how to push the button and we got some self-portraits.

She did a pretty good job of taking pictures of herself...I see a photographer in our future!
Picture of Daddy, Anna and poor Pascal...here he doesn't realize what he's walking into...
Anna has really developed a great love of Pascal.  She loves to tell him what to do ("down!" "out!" "off!"), she loves to give him hugs and kisses, she loves to carry him around...poor Pascal.
Daddy helped Anna hold Pascal like a "baby."
Lucky for Pascal he won't have far to fall if she drops him, plus half of his body is still on the ground...
 He's such a good sport!
Every night after Anna loves on Pascal, we are sure to give him lots of attention and petting because he's been so good about letting her "love" him.

This weekend was a fun family weekend.  We spent Saturday getting some family portraits done and putting together our Christmas card.  We're getting really excited for Christmas and it's not even Thanksgiving yet!  We got a lot of things done around the house...especially since we were up extra early on Sunday morning due to Anna forgetting we had to turn the clocks back.  It was a good weekend, lots of play time, and we're geared up for an exciting week.  We've got lots of things on the agenda this week, including Daddy-Anna day at home on Friday while they come and install our new furnace.  Very exciting!

Our big excitement of the weekend was Anna's first poopy in the potty.  Every time we change her diaper she likes to run to the bathroom and sit on the potty chair.  It's totally self-motivated and she usually doesn't produce anything, but just likes to think she's "big."  Well, this weekend was our first offical potty day; she ran to sit on the potty and got some real results!  We aren't trying to potty train her, we don't even remind her that she should go sit on it, she does it all on her own.  Hopefully this potty training thing continues to just magically happen...

  1. Way to go on the potty Anna! How lucky for you guys Chris and Brian- Anna is potty training herself! Don't you feel like we are sometimes only here to pour their milk and cook their food as they become more and more independent??? Brecken now puts himself in time-out after he throws something..... He throws a toy, then looks at me, then walks to his time-out area and sits down!!!!!!!! A little sad, but amazing what they KNOW!
