Anna's 2nd Birthday Weekend

What a great weekend to celebrate our little TWO year old! While things started off a little rough, Sunday was a wonderful day and we had a really fun day!

Thursday night Anna had a fever around 102, so she got to stay home on Friday and her fever continued through Saturday night.  It had gone down, but we were very hopeful that it would be gone for her actual birthday; and it was!  She woke up on Sunday morning fever free and happy!

Saturday she was feeling better so we did get a few things done around the house...like making her room big girl official! We had taken the crib down earlier in the week when her full size mattress had arrived and so we had some extra space in her room.  So we got her big bed all set up for sleeping and added a new book case for her puzzles and games from her birthday.

Here is Anna on her new big girl bed!  Daddy spent most of Saturday working on the headboard/footboard and frame he's building for the mattress to go on eventually.  She's very excited about her big girl and she loves that Daddy is building her a new bed!
Saturday Anna enjoyed one of the cookies we made for her birthday party at daycare.  We made sugar cookies in the shape of 2's and frosted them with pink frosting.  She took them to share with her friends.  They had a little party, made her a cute card and she got to wear a birthday crown!  Of course we had a few cookies leftover to enjoy on her birthday weekend.
 YUM!
Sunday morning Anna woke up bright and early at 6:30.  She must have known it was her big day!

Happy Birthday Morning!
 Smile!  I'm 2!
Anna went into Daddy's room and made him get up so he could start celebrating too!
Anna and her birthday crown from Sandra's.
 Now it fits!
Daddy made Anna her favorite breakfast, Mickey Mouse pancakes...note to self, don't use M&M's as eyes...it's a little creepy.
After breakfast we headed to get Anna's 2 year pictures taken.  She was really shy at first, but finally started warming up at the end of the session.  We got some good ones and can't wait to get them back!

After pictures we went out for lunch at Chuck-E-Cheese.  Anna had been very anxious and excited about going for days!  We aren't sure what she was expecting, but she was very excited about going!

First stop, shootin' some hoops!
We got lots of pictures of Anna playing...

 Hoops with Daddy!
 Her first tickets!
She was very excited to meet Chuckie.
 Family shot!
Watching the other kids.  She is always interested in what the big kids are doing.

Jackpot!  By some random fluke, Anna and Mommy were playing this Sponge Bob game and somehow won 250+ tickets.  We tried to replicate it and do it again once we figured out how to actually play the game, but once we knew the rules, we couldn't beat it again!
They had a really big slide and Anna really wanted to go down it, but Mommy and Daddy couldn't quite get through the little spaces with their long legs...luckily our friends Pam and Cheri met us and Pam was short enough to fit in the tubes!

Daddy playing a bowling game that was a little small for him.
By the end of her time at Chuckie's Anna was brave enough to get to the top of the slide by herself!  She probably went through it about 10 more times before we left.  It was a lot of work for her to get her little body up all the levels to the top of the slide!
 Presents from Pam!
We started slowing down toward the end so Anna checked out some of the "rides."  She looked pretty thrilled about the Bob ride....
Barney's ride was a little more exciting.
 Hi Chuckie....
Can I sit on your lap?
This ride was very exciting...she was upset when she got off and someone else was getting on.
Air Hockey was a hit!  Anna actually liked to let the puck go in her goal, because then she got to take it out of the slot in front of her.  Daddy beat her....but she put up a good fight.

 A fun day at ChuckECheese!
 VERY TIRED.
After a fun day of birthday celebration and calls from family, Anna spent a little time on Skype with Grandma and Grandpa F too.
It was a great day, especially after a rough couple days of illness.  She loved ChuckECheese and was still talking about it this morning.

Today we went to her 2 year Well Baby appointment, although, I'm not sure we can call it a well BABY appointment anymore.  She graduated to the big kid growth charts today for kids from 2-20 and after this we only go back yearly.  She's a big kid now.

Stats:
Height:  36.5 inches, 95+percentile
Weight:  30.2 pounds, 95+percentile

The doctor said that she was the average size of a 3 year old.  She's a tall girl, but growing proportionately and developing very well.  She was very excited about getting stickers from the doctor, but wasn't too excited about her bonus MMR booster.  She survived it all, shot and all, and left happily with her stickers on a stick and sticker on her shirt.  Although, I'm not sure she wants to go back again until she's 3.  Hopefully we don't have to!

She's growing up, really fast.  It's been awesome to see and I feel lucky that we get to be her parents.  Anna is such an amazing, little girl.  She's got great personality and always good for a laugh or a hug or silly fun.  We are truly blessed.

This week we get to go out with Anna's friend Brecken for supper, enjoy the outside, spend some time this weekend with our friend Anne and do some shopping while Daddy goes fishing.  We are thrilled that the weather is getting nicer because we have been spending lots of time blowing bubbles, playing in the sand box, and throwing balls.  Hopefully the rain stays away and we get another nice weekend this week!
