This was a big weekend for Auntie Kate and we all headed down to Iowa to help her celebrate her graduation from High School! Wow! Congrats Auntie Kate!!
It was a wonderful, busy weekend. It was a weekend filled with family, friends, playing, and eating! What more could you want in a weekend?
Friday after school our little family of three started our journey southward to Iowa. We stopped along the way to eat some supper and then continued on to see the future grad! After a couple quick visits with grandparents and aunt and uncle, Anna headed to bed to get her beauty rest before a busy Saturday!
Saturday morning consisted of playing for Anna. Mommy and Daddy actually got to run some errands by themselves and then Mommy went to help Aunt Katie get ready for her party and Daddy helped Grandpa Randy with some house projects.
Here are some pictures of Anna's busy morning:
Playing with the giant doll house.
Playdough...
Swinging!
Going to her secret hideout...
Planting flowers with Grandma and Grandpa F's neighbors....
Going down the slide on the coolest playset in town!
Relaxing with a movie and a puppy...
Saturday afternoon was spent at Kate's party.
Mommy worked in the kitchen....
Anna napped in many locations....Grandma Lori's arms...
Great-Aunt Joyce's arms....
Starting to wake up in Uncle James' arms...
The graduate and her Dad!
The graduate with her mom and Favorite Sister.
The grad and all her fancy awards!
Auntie Kate's FFA tractor was at the party, so of course Anna had to check it out. At first she was really nervous and wasn't even sure she wanted to sit on it...
But by the end of the afternoon, she was driving it by herself...ok, maybe not, but she wanted to sit on it constantly!
Cousins!
The grad and her Dubuque fan-club!
The grad, her tractor, and her favorite niece.
Anna and Uncle James....
Grandpa started the tractor to take it back home....Anna JUMPED!
After the party we went out to Uncle James' and had a bon fire...of course we had to have s'mores. Anna's first marshmallow of the season.
"No like it. Daddy eat it."
Having fun...with the scary fire in the background. (Do not fear, we were FAR from the fire.)
Sunday morning, Anna woke up...
Just kidding! She didn't sleep in the cage...but she made grandpa help her in and shut the door. She even wanted him to leave the room. She wanted to experience Bailey's kennel for herself.
After lunch, we headed out for the big graduation ceremony. Anna started out sitting nicely with Uncle James.
Here comes Kate!
Then Anna spent the rest of the time on the steps. Don't mind her manners....her diaper was showing through most of the ceremony.
Congratulations for Kate from one of our loyal blog readers...
Checking to make sure it was legit!
High-five Aunt Kate!
Family photo opp!
That's a funny hat Kate.
Our grad. We are so proud!
And again, Anna giving Uncle James directions on where to take her. She's so bossy and has Uncle James wrapped around her little finger!
Siblings.
And we're off to finally relax and enjoy the afternoon. The stress is done, the graduation over. Yay for Katie!
It was a very fun weekend, went way to fast as always. We headed home on Sunday night, Anna was asleep before we were 6 blocks out of the driveway. She slept most of the way home, until she wanted to stop for some supper. Monday was spent getting Anna back on schedule. After a couple days with very little napping and lots of partying, she was ready for a normal schedule. She took a nice afternoon nap and was in bed by 7:30. She still had trouble waking up this morning, but I think we're on the right track.
We have a couple weekends off coming up; no big plans. But we are already gearing up for some exciting summer plans...camping here we come!
