This past weekend was the first (hopefully annual) SchaapCus Camping Trip. We headed south to Decorah, Iowa for a weekend of relaxation with two of our best friends, Lindsay and Andy! We pitched our tents, started the fire and enjoyed! Friday night we were pretty hot after all the set up, so we cheated and went out for pizza in town. In our defense it's one of the best pizza places ever so it was justified.
After pizza we came back and enjoyed the campfire. We had some fun guests come and join us too for some popcorn over the fire.
Anna LOVES sitting with Andy.
Uncle James stopped out because he was in the area too. Anna was so excited to see him, and very disappointed when he left to go back to his hotel and go swimming and she didn't get to go!
Saturday morning we got up and Anna, Lindsay, and I rode bikes down to the farmers market and got some goodies. Anna loved the bike rides we took all weekend long.
Saturday after lunch we headed to the local fish hatchery. Anna really loved this place. There were so many fish in each pool and she just kept running from one to the next looking at them.
They were all just waiting for her to toss in some food.
Running to the next one.
Loving it!
Getting some food from Andy.
The fish loved the food!
More food for the ones in the big pond.
Checking out the "little buddies."
The pretty falls by the fish hatchery.
Really WARM Mommy and Anna.
"Mom, can I climb up this hill?"
"Ooops!" Falling/Sliding down!
"Do Again!"
Anna: "Touch the water, Mommy?"
Me: "I don't think you can reach unless you lay on your tummy."
Instantly she laid down and wanted to try. So we went with it, taking all safety precautions of course.

Saturday before the fish hatchery, the men went fishing while we were off riding bicycles. This was the result of that fishing trip:
Yep, two yummy trout. We ate them as a little appetizer to our supper. Yum.
A few final pictures of the weekend...
Our camp:

The hard core campers making dinner on the fire.
It was a really wonderful weekend. It was hot, but it was really nice to stay at a campground with a shower. We had a very nice time, of course with great company and are already looking forward to our trip next year!
