Summer Fun

It's been a bit since we've done a good picture update, so here are a few pictures of our latest adventures.

Last week was a nice slow week, lots of time to play and relax.  Then the weekend hit and we had lots of things to do and fun to be had!

Saturday night we went to "Auntie" Shari and "Uncle" Steve's house and hung out and watched fire works at dusk.  These were Anna's first fireworks, and they were perfect.  We could see them from their driveway so we didn't have to be too close and the noise didn't bother Anna at all.  It was a good view.

We were up late on Saturday, so we slept in a bit on Sunday.  After we ran a few errands Sunday afternoon, we got home and Anna crashed on the couch with Pascal while Mommy was reading books to her.

Monday brought more fun with friends.  Anna's friend Brecken and new friend Kallie came over to play.  Three two-year-olds in one place was pretty chaotic, but we'd do it again! Anna had a little bit of a hard time sharing her toys, but in the end I think everyone had fun.

There was only about 3 minutes of peace the whole time, so we had to take a picture:
 Smile!
Monday night Anna's cousin Will, aunt Amy and Grandma Lori and Papa  Randy came up for a quick visit.  Amy and Will flew out on Tuesday, so the kids got a little time to play before they had to leave.

Anna cheesin' it up for the camera.
Showing Will how the train works.
 Both smiling!  Too cute!
 Having a snack.
After the busy Tuesday we just relaxed at home Tuesday night and got Anna in bed at a normal time.  She had so much fun with all of her friends.

Yesterday Anna went to Sandra's and of course loved playing with her friends there as well.  They ran in the sprinkler to escape the extreme heat!

Today we went to Anna's first movie in the theater.  We saw "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs."  Anna sat about as well as you can expect from a two year old.  There was lots of up and down, but since it was a free show and the place was packed with lots of kids, no one really cared.  It was a fun experience, she even got her own popcorn.  She was concerned about having money to pay for her popcorn, so she took about $0.28 from daddy's coin jar to cover it.  She gave the lady at the counter $0.01 and she got her popcorn, what a deal!

After the movie we went out for lunch at the Peppermint Twist with Anna's friends Megan and Allison.  They came last week to play and she LOVED it.  They had just as much fun again today.  (Megan and Allison are going to be in Kindergarten this fall.)
After playing we ran to Mommy's school to drop some things off and get a couple things done.  Anna was so excited to see Mommy's new room.  She colored on the whiteboard, drew some pictures on paper and was just excited to run around and play!  Perhaps we have a future teacher on our hands!

Tonight Anna is very excited about going over to her friend Oliver's house to meet his new little brother Oscar.  When I told her Oliver got a new little brother, her response was, "I want new baby brother."  I said that for now she'll have to share Oliver's.

This weekend brings a visit from Grandma Lynn and aunt Kate.  We will probably do some shopping and enjoy the girl time.

Not that I'm counting down, because that's definitely not the case, but there are about 39 days left of summer.  In some respects that sounds like a lot and that makes me very happy; on the other hand, that's not too far out...school is creeping back up on us!  We'll have to make the most of our last 39 days!

  1. Anna did a fantastic job of sharing her toys! We had such a great time. I wish we lived closer and Anna and Brecken could have fun play dates all the time :) Thanks again for sharing toys and for making us lunch!
