1st Cereal Experience

At Claire's four month appointment we were given the go-ahead for starting cereal. This time around (meaning with the second child) I am in no hurry to get to that next milestone...I am enjoying her being "tiny."  Today while we were at Target we picked up some Oatmeal cereal so we would have some on hand when we decided to dive into the world of solid foods.  Well, big sister Anna was pretty antsy about the cereal thing.  She kept asking all day about giving Claire some cereal, so finally at supper, we decided to go for it.  Of course we had to document it well!

Claire apparently, was more than ready for her first cereal.  She opened her mouth up for that spoon and got a little cranky when it wasn't coming quickly enough.  I guess she's eating cereal at supper now.

She's getting ready and excited for her first bites:
 Num...

Anna helped to feed her too.

 "Keep it coming mom."

Open wide.

Daddy got in on the feeding too.

Smiles and a messy face.

"Thanks for feeding me Daddy!"

Messy face.

Mmmm....

"Here Mom, I can just do it myself."

Multi-tasking, toe playing and cereal eating.

"Hi Dad."

And after the big girl ate her cereal, she attempted to hold her own bottle.

Doing a pretty good job.

And after all the mess, she got all cleaned up.  Happy, clean baby.

Toes.

She was finished her entire bowl of cereal, every last drop.  I guess we're on the solid food bus now...

We've already been freezing some squash and may cook up some of our apples and get those ready for her as well.

And on a side note, Claire's hair is finally starting to lay down...she still has a lot of it, but now it seems to draw less attention!
