Weekend Warriors

This past weekend was a long weekend for the girls.  Thursday and Friday we had no school; thank you Education Minnesota.  So, Thursday and Friday we had lists of fun things to do, like get the oil changed in the truck, get flu shots, participate in studies at the University of Minnesota, and so on.  Mixed in with all those things was a fun lunch with Daddy at his work, buying more yarn for Mommy's growing obsession with knitting, and of course lots of playing, cuddling, and some ice cream eating!  

Whew.  

Sounds busy, and that was just the first two days of our little break.  

The second two days were even more wonderful...we traveled south to visit our wonderful friends Lindsay and Andy and their new little babies, Charlie and Nora!  It was so wonderful to visit with them and meet the newest members of their family.  The babies are too cute and still so tiny!  They have grown so much in the past month, but they are still so itty bitty compared to our littlest princess!  

All week long Anna was prepping Claire for meeting her "new friends."  And here are the three of them together...future troublemakers!

They are both looking at Claire in awe of her growing abilities!  She does have three extra months of growing time on them....one year from now, despite the fact that Claire has a good chance of being taller, you may not be able to see such a difference in size.  

We cannot wait for our next visit with these little cuties and their parents.  We look forward to many years of fun!

We headed to their place on Saturday morning, stayed the day, got to see Aunt Kate and her friend Katie, ate cool cookies from Wartburg College, ate pizza from the OP, and then headed out on Sunday morning.  Needless to say, everyone was pretty tired....

Anna crashed....

 And so did Claire....

But when we got home, wow, the weather was beautiful!  So we did a little bit of yard clean up in preparation for winter and enjoyed the warmth of the sun.

And we got a few of Claire getting some sun and enjoying the grass.  

At one point, Claire got herself a handful of grass and attempted to eat it...this girl wants everything in her mouth!  We are in trouble when she gets mobile!

And now it's Monday.  

We don't have a very busy week planned, which is definitely welcomed. We have grandparents visiting this weekend, so we have lots of fun to look forward to!  

UPDATE:  Claire's cereal endeavor continues to go well.  She loves to eat her cereal and we'll probably add in a veggie later this week to test out.  She has no problem eating from a spoon and hopefully we can get her filled up again so sleeping through the night starts again.....she's been waking lately between 1:30 and 3:30....not Mommy's favorite time to be awake!
