Our Halloween fun started a week early when we welcomed a visit from Grandpa Randy and Grandma Lori. We enjoyed a weekend with them at our house and they joined us at our church's Fall Harvest party.
These two beautiful faces got all dressed up for some fun.
Before the fun began, we spent Friday night relaxing and sharing our favorite homemade pizza recipe with Grandpa and Grandma. It's a family production to make the pizza...
Claire didn't get to eat pizza but enjoyed her squash and oatmeal while we made pizza.
Daddy grilled the pizza.
Yum.
Then first thing on Saturday morning we got all costumed up and headed to the party. Here is our princess...
...and our kitten.
Sisters.
We got to the party and there were so many activities to participate in, Anna hardly knew where to start. She completed every activity and had a very fun time.
This is how Claire was during the entire party. I'm not sure why she even came in costume!
Here is Anna writing her name on her paper. We decided Anna is lucky her name is a palindrome....she can write it going any direction and still get it right. Poor Claire may have a harder time getting her name down.....
More fun activities....
More sleeping from Claire....
Halloween BINGO....
Pumpkin bowling....
Cupcake decorating....
And finger licking!
Scary stories....
And face painting!
Our little kitty woke up when we got home so she could enjoy her Halloween present from Grandpa and Grandma. This little ball has been in her hands almost non-stop since Saturday!
Anna was excited to get the new Tinkerbell movie, complete with a story book!
Sunday we enjoyed a lazy jammie morning and then went out for lunch with G & G.
Claire was all smiles for a lazy morning!
Anna loved the morning at home too!
Claire spent some time reading...
And eating with Grandma...
And working on her walking skills....
Anna was silly with Grandpa....
And Claire got some cuddles too!
It was great to have them here to start our Halloween celebrations. The rest of the week was full of costumes, tricks and treats and way too much candy!
Anna got this awesome lollipop that she really enjoyed.
Claire was in awe of the lollipop.
Wednesday night we went out and about Trick or Treating in our neighborhood and Anna loved it! Claire slept in the Bjorn most of the time. Anna was a little nervous at first and we had to prompt her to stay "Trick or treat" and "thank you" but by the end, she knew what she had to do to get the candy!
Here she is with her loot!
This was her costume Halloween night; after her party at school, she came home and decided she wanted to be a ballerina instead of a princess, so this is what we came up with.
Our ballerina and our kitty.
Meow!
Daddy with his little black kitty.
Trick or treating was lots of fun, but I think Anna had even more fun answering the door after we got back home. Her comment after the first group of kids came to our house and she filled their bags with candy, "Mom, they didn't even say thank you!" We love that she figured out that the thank you is an important part of the trick or treating process!
We continued our Halloween celebration on Thursday by making dirt and worm dessert to "scare" Daddy. Anna thought it was pretty cool to put it together and "trick" Daddy.
The morning after Halloween Anna asked if we could go Trick or Treating again that night. She thought it was a great idea to go door to door and get candy! Poor girl, she has to wait a whole year before she gets to go again! Next year, she'll have a little sister who will be into the whole thing a little more than she was this year!
