She's mobile! And climbing stairs! And thinks she should jump right into walking!
Oh Claire! You are growing much too quickly!
This past week Claire has been really perfecting her ability to crawl. I have some video of her crawling earlier last week and it's already a LOT better today. She's mastered going up the step into the dining room from the living room and has attempted to go up the stairs in the kitchen, but we keep stopping her. She's not sure what to do when she is faced with the problem of going back down the step into the living room. She does know that there is a drop off and hasn't nose-dived yet, but isn't quite getting the concept of turning around. She just crawls to the edge and squeals until someone helps her down.
Claire's eating has really taken a turn to big girl too. While she is still eating a veggie or fruit with oatmeal, now our limit is about 3 bites off the spoon before she MUST have something on her tray she gets to put in her mouth on her own. She's been eating cheese, crackers, bbq pork, tuna, noodles, bread, lunch meat, chicken, olives, mushrooms, you name it, she'll try it. She doesn't turn anything away. Thinking back to Anna eating solids, I felt like we were always having to help her get things down, it seemed like she choked on everything. Now that she's almost 4, the girl still gags on a bite that is too big. This whole choking thing made me nervous to go back down that road with Claire as she began solids. However, it has been a very clear road. She really can shovel it in, and we try to keep it controlled, but so far, she's been choke and gag free. It's crazy how different the girls are in some ways, but yet so similar in others.
Here are some pictures of our little crawler!
And eater...
And a picture of Big Sister's beautiful smile. She's had a rough day today with a DR appointment and a fever. She stayed home with Mommy today and will again tomorrow to fully recover. Love that messy face!
And one last very current one for our readers. This was Claire tonight after her bath and after Big Sister went to sleep. She has to have a clip or tie in her hair at all times so it doesn't fall in her face. She's a pretty happy girl and very schedule oriented. This was our 10 minutes of play time before cuddles and bed.
Perhaps tomorrow I'll get those videos to upload so we can share the joys of learning to crawl!
