From Valentine's Day to President's Day

We have a bit of catching up to do...and some fun projects to share.

Let's start with a cute one of our girls in their vests.

For Valentine's Day, Anna had an official party with her classmates.  There were class lists involved and everything!  We opted to craft our own Valentines; Anna had to do the cutting and some of the writing.

Here she is cutting out one of the pockets...

And here is the finished product:

Anna cut out all of the pockets, all by her self.  She also filled them with Smarties, wrote the "to" name, stuck on a hug, and signed her name.  It was quite a process, but she was successful and very proud of her creation.  Mommy just helped by sewing the pockets on and writing the big words.

A few weeks ago, one of my students created a giant ruler for me to hang in our hallway to chart the girls' growth.  He did an excellent job and we are so happy to have it!  We've started marking and are excited to see their progress!

Back to V-Day!

Anna was beyond thrilled when she got home with her Valentines from her friends!

Claire was more excited to play with toys...

Anna read each of her friends' names and was so excited for the candy.

Here she is later, showing off her Olivia shirt for Valentine's Day from Grandma Lynn and Grandpa Dave.

These are the beautiful flowers that Daddy brought home for his girls.  One vase for each.  Three flowers for Anna (cause she's three of course), one for Claire, and the rest for Mommy.  They are lovely!

Here was our V-Day fondue set up.  Anna thought it was really fun to put things on the skewers and dip them...but then she got bored and just ate cheese off the skewer with no dipping.

President's Day

Happy President's Day!  Mommy gets the day off from school, so we stayed home after a FUN weekend with friends Lindsay and Andy and their little ones Charlie and Nora.  (Mommy and Lindsay got a fun day out on Saturday while the Daddies stayed home with the kiddos!)  Sadly, no pictures were taken of this wonderful weekend!  Could be because at any one time one of the three little ones under 9 months old was not pleased or sleeping :)

Since Mommy had the day off, we decided it was craft day!!

Anna painting her first canvas!

She was very focused.  "You can't talk to me while I'm painting Mom."

Claire just crawled around and caused trouble...like spilling the kitty water, and trying to eat paper.

After the outside dried, she came back to paint the star yellow.  She was very focused on staying in the lines.

While the rest of the paint dried, she spent time dressing her dolly up like her.  Not sure why, but Anna spent most of her day in her hat.

We also baked some cookies.  Anna put the M&Ms on top.

While Anna was painting, Mommy also finished up some painting...

One above the pantry door.

And one that has yet to find a home...

Anna's masterpiece!  This will go in her room.

And Claire's highlight of the day was climbing the stairs!  She has been very interested in the stairs for a while, and today she got brave.  She ventured beyond the first step....
And made it half way up...
And eventually clear to the top of the first set of steps.

Don't worry, I was RIGHT there....she was so proud when she got to the landing.  She sat and giggled for a long time.  She did attempt the second half, but only made it about three steps up before the light on the side caught her eye and she stayed and played for a while.  Then the timer went off for our cookies and all the fun had to end!

It's been a busy couple holidays, celebrated fully.

This week is a big one for Anna.  On Friday she has her early childhood screening.  One step closer to Kindergarten!  I know, I know, we still have a year and a half...but this is just really making it all become so much more real.  We'll keep you posted on the excitement
