MIA from Blog

We are still here.  We have had some sort of bug that decided to make the four of us sick, one at a time over the past week and a half.  I'll spare our readers the details, but hopefully we are on the last round of it all.  Claire stayed home today and seems to be doing pretty well this afternoon.  We're hoping the weekend brings everyone rest and all tummies will be happy on Monday to start a new week!

Aside from illness the girls have both been in very good spirits.  Anna handled being sick very well and really showed her independence as an almost 4 year old.  It's so much easier having her sick than Claire.  Anna tells us what she needs, has the ability to just relax on the couch, and is very good at understanding why she can't eat something.  Claire on the other hand....she's a trickier patient.  She's a busy little crawler and to help her understand that she needs to just rest is out of the question.  She's been in good spirits and loves to play so that's way better than a really sick baby.  She's been sleeping and napping well too, so she's healing in her own way.

Claire has been learning some new tricks lately.  She loves to "bonk" heads, starting to give high fives, and will crawl as fast as she can toward any electronic (phone, remote) so she can test it out before anyone takes it from her.  She also heads straight for the stairs or the kitty food when given the chance.  She loves to take baths, which is good considering how many she's gotten to take lately....

Anna really has shown us in the past week how compassionate she is towards everyone.  We've always known she's very caring, but she's shown genuine concern for whomever is sick and frequently asks how we are feeling.  Last night she cried when we said that Claire now had the bug and was concerned she gave her the bug.  "Did I give her the bug?"

So, yes.  We are still here.  Hopefully this weekend we will take some pictures of our beautiful girls and be able to share them with our blogging world...this week didn't seem like a fun week to take any pictures.  Aunt Kate will be here this weekend so that will be reason enough to celebrate and photograph the fun.

We hope to be back soon with pictures and fun updates...and maybe some outside time mixed in there as the temperature seems to be finally going in the right direction!
