10 Month Fun Facts

1. Claire has one of the best smiles ever.  Dimples rock.  
2. She is getting brave.  She'll walk from one piece of furniture to another if it's only 1 step with no hands.  Any more than that and she drops to crawl.  
3. Communication is really becoming the name of the game with Claire.  She understands lots of the things we tell her and we have noticed some sounds that are pretty consistently used for certain items.  Cat and book are two sounds that are consistent.  They sound more like "daat" and "ook" but we're starting to comprehend!  
4. She also makes dada, mama, and baba sounds clearly, but has yet to use any of the three to properly identify anything.  
5. Claire is VERY ticklish.  She has the best giggle when she's being tickled.  She's ticklish under her arms, on her sides, on her legs, on her toes, almost everywhere!  
6. She loves to stand up in the bathtub and knows that she's not supposed to.  The last few baths have been the same, Claire stands up, I say, "Sit down, Claire."  She sits down, smiles really big and then stands up again and we repeat about 10 times.  Then finally she stops sitting back down and she has to get out.  She's a little defiant!
7. Claire loves to throw things on the floor and then Anna picks them up for her and she does it again.  
8. Claire is getting really good at the bedtime routine.  She picks a book each night and sometimes even sits fairly well to listen to it.  
9. She's even into giving hugs at bedtime.  Anna gets a hug every night.  
10. The stairs are still one of her favorite toys.  She will take any chance she's given and start climbing the stairs.  
11. Claire is very social.  She loves to wave bye-bye to everyone.  
12. Meal time is a favorite time for Claire.  She loves to try new food and always wants what everyone else has.  She eats the big kid food at school now and her only baby food is her applesauce and cereal for breakfast.  
13. We only have two months left of bottles.  I'm not sure she's going to want them for 2 more months.  She's been leaving some unfinished at school fairly regularly.  The only one she always sucks down is her night-night bottle.  That may be a hard one to leave behind!
14. Claire wears 12-18 month clothes people are surprised she's not already 1.  She's a mature girl, just like big sis.  
15. Claire loves to play roll the ball.  She even rolls/throws it back to you every time.  She can play for long periods of time. 
16. She wants to play with anything that Anna has in her hands.  This is proving to be a difficult situation, as Anna doesn't always want to share with Claire.  
17. Claire takes her medicine really easily.  She's been on antibiotics for her ear infections twice in the past month so it's great that she likes to take her meds!
18. We are hopeful that next week when she goes back for a recheck she is done with this ear infection that has been lingering!
19. Claire is a wonderful, delightful little girl.  We love seeing the new things she learns every day.  She's very curious and loves to check out anything that seems to be an electronic.
