Fall

Fall has arrived with rainy cool days.  While the cooler weather is welcome, the dreary days are less than exciting!  This weekend we didn't have anything big scheduled, so we were able to just relax and enjoy.

Friday night we went out for dinner with friends after the homecoming parade at my school where Anna and Claire walked away with about 8 pounds of candy.  That is hardly an exaggeration.  The weather was cold, rain had been predicted; not many people showed up for the parade.  We were about the only ones on the block where we were sitting.  It also may have helped that we were sitting with another teacher, and for some reason our students in the parade got really excited to throw candy at their teacher's and our kids.

We did spend some time today sorting out the candy into three piles:  one to donate to preschool where Anna's teachers can feed it to the children and sugar them up before they send them home, one for mommy to take to school to return to the students who threw it at us and sugar them up before we send them home, and one to keep at home.  The one to keep at home was pretty small and based on what we found when we went through the candy bowl we were refilling, it will probably still be there when we go through the candy bowl again next time.

Saturday we ran errands and refilled our fridge.  We also spent some time in the afternoon having family photos done.  My friend Erin took them and we are so excited to see her awesome work....we will share as soon as we have some!

Last night we had movie night.  We all cuddled on the couch with popcorn and watched Wreck-it Ralph.  The girls got to stay up way past their bed time and loved it!

Today was again rainy and cold, so we spent time baking, organizing, and playing.

We're all ready to head back to work in the morning.

Speaking of mornings, this is how we found Claire on Thursday morning:

We found Anna like this once at about this same age.  Claire got herself wedged in there pretty good and had to have some assistance getting her cute little legs out.

We were just talking this weekend about the possibility of Claire moving out of the crib.  Hopefully that's not something that has to happen soon, but she is a climber and we're just waiting to hear that thud one morning that tells us that she has decided to scale the wall of her crib too.  Oh little Claire, stay little please.

Loving these lazy, cuddly weekends...
