This past week we had a special visitor in our house. Aunt Kate came for the week and we had a great time! Anna loved having Kate here every day to play with. I loved having Kate here to play with Anna...and of course to hang out with me! We didn't get many pictures of the week, it was a busy one, but we got a few to share.
Tuesday we did some shopping and went out for lunch with a friend from school.
Wednesday Kate came with me to my classroom and helped me organize. It was wonderful. The bulletin boards are done, the posters are placed, and many things are ready to go for the fall! Thanks Kate for all your help!
Thursday was a day at home. Anna and Kate played a lot and when Anna finally napped Kate was my chief organizer! Woohoo!

Friday was a fun day, we went to the Mall of America. We had gotten some free Mystery Tickets for Nickelodeon Universe so we thought it would be a good opportunity to let Anna try out some rides. She was a little tired when we got there, but got pretty excited when she saw the bus ride. (I believe it's probably because she saw pictures of her friend Brecken riding it a few weeks back!)
So of course we had to try it. She was looking a little nervous.
Trying to mentally prepare...
We went up high! It went around and around.
Anna did love it. She smiled a few times and giggled when her tummy turned as we came down.
The carousel however, did not have the same exciting effect. We gave them our ticket, found our horse, waited about 2 minutes, the ride still hadn't started so Anna was ready to bail. At least we got to sit on the horse for a minute. That was enough.
Kate also went on a fun roller coaster and Anna loved watching her. We gave the rest of our tickets to a nice family who had a little guy about Anna's age so he could enjoy the bus ride too.
Friday night we went out for pizza and then Saturday our friends Jason, Emily, Aaron and Simon came down to play. We didn't get any pictures of the three kids together this time, but I'm sure we'll get plenty when we go camping with them in a few weeks. Although, if Saturday was any indicator, it may be hard to get all three of them in one place for any amount of time. They are crazy!
Saturday night, Kate and Anna stayed home and watched The Little Mermaid and ate popcorn with M&M's mixed in while Mommy and Daddy went out. It had been a while since we had an Anna-less meal, so we enjoyed some adult time and even went to a movie. Our last movie was a year ago on our 5th anniversary. We're on the one movie a year plan!
Sunday we had some play time outside with Kate before she left. Anna spent some time painting the house while Kate and I painted a craft...it's a surprise so pictures will come at a later date.
Anna painting the house.
Cute! (Note-today we spent more time outside "painting" things. She's a little artist.)
"I had so much fun Auntie Kate! Come back again soon!"
