We are off and running with summer vacation. We've had a busy first few days.
Monday, we had library story time. Anna was very nervous about this new group of kids she didn't know. She clung to Mommy most of the time, just observing. She's very much an observer, takes it all in, and waits to make sure before she jumps in too. She was definitely ready to jump in at the end when the kids got to get a hand stamp from the librarian. She ran right up, got in line, waited her turn and then proudly ran back to me with her fists in the air showing her zipper and zebra for the letter Z! When I asked her if she said 'thank you', she looked concerned and ran back up to tell her thank you. The entire way home she talked about all the fun things the librarian had shown her and what they had talked about. She was excited to pick out new books this week and is already talking about going back next week.
Tuesday, we had Time for Two's class. Again, Anna was pretty shy about the circle time, songs, and group activities, but then played really well with the other kids, even sharing toys! It is always fun to see how Anna interacts with other kids her age. We're not surprised that she's rather shy in new situations, neither of her parents are the most outgoing. She's very cautious but interested.
Monday afternoon she was tired. Anna never wants to give in to napping though, and spent the first part of her rest time reading books. She finally fell asleep after about 15 minutes, and I found her surrounded by her books.
Monday after nap, we went outside and enjoyed some homemade popsicles.
After supper on Monday night we went to the park nearby and Anna had a blast before bedtime.
She loved this tunnel and kept yelling 'peek-a-boo.'
Climbing through the tall tunnel!
She climbed to the top and went down the big slide all by herself!
Last year she liked to sit in this car, but had to have help making it bounce. This year, she had no problem making this thing move!

Today, Anna went to Sandra's house while Mommy went to school to work for a while. She was very excited about going to play with her friends and talked about it all week. She did have a little trouble with drop-off today, Mommy doesn't usually drop off so it was very different. But, she had a great playing with her friends.
Tomorrow we have nothing on the schedule. Yay. We love all of our activities, but it's always fun to just have a day to relax. We're planning to get things ready for our camping trip this weekend and spend some time outside. Hopefully it stays dry...
We're anxious for some warmer weather so we can start heading to the beach for some summer fun!
