Landscaping Sneak Peak

So project #2 has been started.  The area around the mail box is finally starting to look a little better!  We went and purchased some more landscaping timbers, we're trying to see how many can fit in the trailblazer at once, today we were up to 23 and we all had to sit in different rows of seats to get home.

We created a design this morning and spent all afternoon putting it together.  It was quite the process and it's still not finished as I write; we have one more plant to add, plus the mulch.  But Brian captured a few cute pictures of Anna digging in the dirt that I had to share tonight.  She LOVED the dirt today.  Her favorite part was finding worms and moving them to "new dirt."  She was right in there digging, scooping, and helping.  She's a GREAT helper this year.  She loves to be outside, so this is the year of the yard!

Our muddy little princess.  From the picture you can hardly tell how dirt covered this girl was at the end of the night.
This is probably the only time she actually used her own shovel, most of the time she wanted to use the trowel.
And for those who don't believe I have been working on the project, here is some proof...me doing more digging, althought this is just the detail diging with the trowel.  Most of the day was spent with me and the spade digging deep trenches for the timbers.

Really, I did do most of the work today, until it came time to lay the timbers, then Brian had to come with his saw and drill and help keep it all level. It's really a two person, plus Anna kind of job. Brian is not a fan of landscaping, so this is kind of my project this year....too bad for him he's getting roped into helping with the tough jobs.  I am just the visionary!  Thank goodness for him though, because while I think I'm pretty strong, there was much I needed his assistance with today!

It was a very good productive day.  Tomorrow we shall finish it up and will post the final pictures then.
