Clear Lake

Last weekend we headed south to Clear Lake to spend the day with Brian's Dad's side of the family for what's become an annual get together.  It's great to see everyone who can make it and was a great opportunity to let Claire meet more of her family! 

Claire got cuddles from Aunt Linda right away!

Anna was so excited that Will was there, in her words, "He's my favorite!" 

Anna LOVED this tree swing.  If only we had a tree big enough for a swing in our yard.  Many people got to spend time pushing Anna on the swing.  Here's Uncle Ron taking his turn!

Uncle Ron led the flag raising ceremony while Anna supervised. 

Anna got more "big sister" presents and of course had to "help" Claire open her presents too!

Claire was tired by the time we got there, so she got snuggied up and took a nice 3 hour nap!

While Claire was sleeping, Anna helped open another of Claire's presents:  a beautiful quilt made by Aunt Linda with fabric that was selected by Claire and Anna's late Great-Grandma Edith.  It's a very special quilt.  

Anna and Will liked playing bags...and helping people cheat at the game as well!

Will enjoyed checking out his cousin Claire.  He kept giving her the bottle and pacifier that came with Anna's new baby doll.

The kids got to go out on the dock and feed the ducks too!

These two played together really well.  They have a lot of fun when they are together!

It was a great day, and for August, it was actually quite chilly outside--which in my opinion was wonderful!  It was great to see everyone and catch up before the busy schedules of fall start up again!
