Random fun

We have not been up to anything overly exciting lately, especially since it has been so cold, but we have had some fun nonetheless.

Fun stuff:

1. Kindergarten round up was tonight.  Anna got to check out a typical kindergarten classroom, meet the teachers and the principal, and get officially registered to start in the fall.  Her friend Bella will be in her kindergarten class, so she was excited to see her there tonight.  She was nervous that she would be the only one that was new.  She was really shy at first when we got there, but then had no problem staying in the classroom while we went to the parents meeting.  They even got a snack and played with a "smart computer" she reported. She loved it and is now a kindergarten know-it-all!  Very exciting.  
2. Claire has interest in her potty chair and sits on it every night before her bath. Last night she experienced  her first success on the potty and was so startled by the noise that plays when it is used that she jumped up and made a bit of a mess.  But she was very proud of herself and we made a big deal out of it so hopefully the sound that it makes does not scare her for next time.  
3.  We made a slide out of a giant cardboard box and have spent some evenings sliding down the stairs, both girls love it and it burns lots of that cooped up energy from being inside with such cold weather. 
4. Tonight Anna asked me, "How do people who live in other states say living room?"  After a few more questions I learned she was wondering about how to say things in other languages.  So we talked about how to say things in other languages, and I knew a few ways to say simple things like hello, goodbye, please, and thank you and then her comment was, "Wow, mom you are just like Siri, you know a lot."
5. Claire likes to sit at the table with Anna and color after school. They are too cute together, Anna helps her take the lids off of the markers and Claire always says thank you.  Sometimes Claire stands up in her chair and Anna is quick to tell me or tell her that she needs to sit down. Yesterday her quote was, "Claire, you need to sit down, you are making me nervous."  

Tomorrow is Friday and we are really looking forward to a plan free weekend.  We have a big project we are looking forward to completing!  Pictures will come soon, I hope!
