Anna and her Bananas

What a nice weekend...an extra long one. Too bad we don't all have Monday's off too! Back to work tomorrow! Oh well, we'll celebrate the good weekend we had and look forward to another exciting week.

This weekend we got to see Aunt Amy and Grandpa and Grandma F. We met them for shopping and lunch. It was fun....there will be pictures of this even to come.

Today was a relaxing day...we got some things done around the house, spent some time outside and took Anna to the orchard to get apples and her very first pumpkin. (I'll post these pictures in another post later.)

Here are her outside pictures from our house:

Baby food update:
We got the Magic Bullet up and running and it worked out really well. It doesn't make quite as much as the blender at one time, but that's ok. Hopefully I don't have to mash up six squash at a time again in the near future. We have LOTS of squash in the freezer and the best part is that she doesn't even really like it. She tired some on Thursday and did just fine, but then on Friday she gagged, coughed, and made all sorts of other faces to let us know she wasn't into the whole squash thing. We're not going to give up though, she had more for supper tonight and did a little better.
Today we also tried bananas. We just mashed up some really ripe banana and gave her that with some cereal. At first she didn't really know what to think of it; I think the flavor was a bit strong so we mixed it was some cereal to tone it down and she took it down like a champ. For lunch we got brave and gave her some peas. I was in the process of cooking, squishing, and freezing them, so we thought it was a good opportunity to see if she likes them and she did! She didn't even turn up her nose once to them....that's my girl! I love peas too! Next on the list is green beans, then apples, then who knows what! I think she's moving along very well into solid foods!
Tomorrow we'll take a few bags of frozen foods to Sandra's house for her to have for lunch and she will be set for a while. It's actually really easy and convenient, not to mention much cheaper, to make your own food. Who knew?!

  1. Where did you get Anna's cute coats? We need to be getting Brecken one as his stocking hat and hoodie just won't cut it any more. Because Eric has considered his "fleece sweatshirt" to be a winter coat for the last 9 years he somehow thinks that is all Brecken needs and I've been trying to change his mind. I borrowed my sister-in-law's food processor for a day of baby food making and it was AMAZING. I think it holds 11 cups so I could do a lot at once... Today was carrots, squash, and sweet potato! He's just on rice cereal now but I'm excited to try veggies with him! It looks like Anna is a complete stud when it comes to her solids! And the picture of her eating the apple at the orchard was adorable! She seems so advanced for her age!!!!! Brecken still isn't even rolling over :)
