The last week plus has been pretty busy with school and work and meetings and friends and fun. Last weekend we had planned to enjoy some time at home and we did, but the weekend went quickly as we worked hard to get some things done around the house we've been wanting to do for a long time. Then by the time we ran errands and got groceries it was Monday morning again! The week passed quickly though, and now we're back to another weekend!
Last night we had friends Chris and Renee and Nathan over and enjoyed some pizza and time together. Nathan loved checking out all Anna's toys and Anna loved watching Nathan play. It was a fun evening.
This morning was the triathlon at school that I volunteered to help with so it was another early morning for me while Anna and Daddy slept in and came over later for lunch. Anna got to see Grandma Jan again....it had been a long time and last time Anna was really fussy so it was fun to see her happy and everyone commented how big she has gotten...and of course how really cute she is!
We got home around 1:00 and have been enjoying time at home. Anna tried her first round of food outside of rice cereal which she is now eating twice a day and today we added sweet potatoes to the mix. She seemed to enjoy them. We got sweet potatoes at the store for $0.88/pound which is WAY cheaper than $0.99/jar of baby food. We put them in the blender and froze them. It works out really well to grab a cube for a meal.
Tomorrow we have church and maybe a few errands, but other than that, a family weekend at home. Next week is going to be a short week, only three days of school and then Mommy and Anna are home for two days before the weekend. On Saturday we will get to see Aunt Amy from Virginia and Grandma and Grandpa F...we're meeting them in the middle to spend a day together.
Anna is really working on her crawling...she gets up on all fours and kind of rocks now. She's really determined. She does end up moving a lot, worming her way around. Daddy is almost finished with the gate for the top of the stairs...it will be just in time!
I will add some pictures from today and of the sweet potato experience and sign off because we're going to enjoy a movie together this evening :)

Hey Chris! I'm excited to make some homemade baby food for Brecken. Maybe we can get together some weekend and steam/ puree/ cube together while the boys and the babies play :) We are excited to start B on rice cereal, but have had some pitfalls. Long story short, we ended up at the doctor last week and they think B might have a milk allergy which means we've switched formula... This will push everything back and we have to get things figured out before introducing anything new. Bummer :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a growing girl! I bet she is SO EXCITED about her new little boy cousin that she will be able to pick...I mean LOVE ON! I hope that you're doing well!
